Yugoslavia was a very diverse place with many different ethnicity. After the death of Tito nationalism rose, and when Croatia decided to leave Yugoslavia Belgrade became worried that the many Serbs living in Croatia would be oppressed, (rightfully so because they where, and the largest ethnic cleansing event of the Yugoslav war was of Serbs being kicked out of Croatia.).

Because of this Belgrade attempted to force Croatia to stay, or at least take the areas with Serb Majority as there own. After this Bosnia attempted to leave Yugoslavia, a place filled with Muslims, Serbs, and Croats. Bosnia basically became a battle royal of the 3 ethnicity fighting for areas they considered their own, or with a majority of their people. Bosnia broke into two nations, the Muslim Republic of Bosnia, and the Serbian Republica Srpska.

The issue of Kosovo and the Nato bombing of Serbia and Montenegro is a related but different story that happened afterwords.

Quick post to heal some default Jow Forums mental illness. No south slav country in the balkans has asian or arab genes, all the "DARK" genes are pre slavic genes, what most describe as dinaric.
