First the whole thing rotates 90 degrees clockwise
Then the black dot moves one square clockwise

The fourth image however, clarifies the rules some, while it shows us that the overal arangement of 3 squares can operate all 4 possible positions, the black dot is only moving between the three existant squares, and does not need to sit in the non existant 4th square.

So we know from the 4th image, that we again rotate the whole thing 90 degrees clockwise, and we move the black dot 90 degrees clockwise.

If you have any "pattern" or something similar like a list of numbers you can always find infinitely many functions that all fit through all given points but then can give literally any result you want.
This technically holds true for all IQ/ pattern recognition tests as you could always find a function that includes all four given points and then each of the possible answers after that (if you have matlab you can try it out yourself if you find a way to represent the figures as numbers).
The thing is that IQ tests obviously still work since there is by the nature of the question always one answer that fits very well with a compact function behind it like "rotate 90° clockwise and rotate the dot within the squares", whereas functions that give the other solutions might be hundreds or even infinitely many lines of operations.

nothing indicates the dot can move backwards, and the transition from 3 to 4 makes it clear that the dot just keeps moving clockwise and skips the empty space so it doesn't run out of boxes and 'bounce' backwards or anything.

The fact that it throws cold water on your sense of egalitarianism is just an accident. Practically NO ONE who reads the literature on intelligence testing likes what they find.

You can deny science all you like. But it won't make it not true, and it won't make me stop believing the outcomes of well-constructed experiments and tests. It just makes you look stupid.
