It was all designed by intention. Oil isn't scarce. We couldn't deplete the reserves. Electricity isn't harmful. The climate can not be "damaged" from our way of life. Pollution is far less impactful on nature as is told. If we were to vanish from the face of the planet today, the environment will have filtered most "harmful" pollution within ten years. And it doesn't matter if we are with 8 billion or 35 billion. We're made from organic meat, we burn oil and produce durable materials, plastic, metals, that are even less resilient than rock, that literally turns to dust given enough time.

In essence they believe the same thing, but the fact is, climate has been changing in wild swings for as long as the earth has had a climate, pre-dating even life on earth. In fact, life was likely created due to the rapidly changing climate of early earth causing lots of atmospheric electrical discharges which acted as an electrolysis agent in the vast clouds of methane, ammonia, CO2, etc that existed.
