The left one is ~$17/lb CAD or ~12.80/lb USD. New York strip not on sale where I live is ~9.99-10.99 USD.

17.6CAD per LB. A bit up there but not crazy pricing given average wages in this country. That's the usual price I see unless my local supermarket doesn't have much cut left until the next cow. You can still get much cheaper and better cuts from a local butcher shop as well.
Still it's not a fair comparison. Certain places in America have crazy low costs on virtually everything compared to other states/countries. States like Texas have a crazy good fucking econemy in comparison to Canada or many other places in the world.
