Since it's Chicago, they were probably just a random dark skinned family. Trust me when I say if someone is Muslim, YOU WILL KNOW. At my job there are a few Muslims and every few hours they take breaks to pray and one of the women who I work with forces the managers to put her in the same area as her husband because she has to be escorted by him everywhere, take the same breaks, and everything.

I'm living in an area where Muslims are taking over and the Mexicans in the area don't particularly like them, especially due to difference in religion. I think the fact that most Mexicans are even more religious than some Americans helps them integrate better in just a few generations but Muslims will never be able to, as long as they are Muslim. I actually have way less of an issue with Mexicans as long as they either come in legally (especially if their family was here first, such as Tejanos) or one of their parents is already American, thus they can claim to be American.
