NET NEUTRALITY BAD

Net Neutrality gives the government MORE power to interfere in how an ISP does business. Given the current actions of the New Zealand government, every NZ ISP would have been forced to block Jow Forums, kiwifarms etc. as opposed to voluntarily choosing to do so (Thus angering consumers who use those website and losing business as a result.)

It wouldn't have done shit if the government was the one behind the call to censorship, which is exactly the case here. I am still posting here right now BECAUSE we don't have Net neutrality, which would have forced all ISPs to fall in line with the governments wishes.

Besides, having legislation allowing the government control over what you can and can't see (Which is what net neutrality legislations effectively does.) flies in the fact of the consumer being able to decide. As it stands. The ISP making a decision to block content and losing customers who want access to that content to other ISPs who provide it is the only realistic way for this to work.

Because the government hasn't got the legislation to force ISPs to comply. If there were specifc net neutrality laws, they would be able to force censorship using the same methods in which they currently use to shut down access to things like child pornography or piracy.

Pro-NN people need to just think for a god damn second, when has government mandated "equality" ever worked how anyone thinks it should work?
