The reason people can’t pay back their student debt is because the market value of their education is less than what they paid to get their education. This is because bankruptcy law allows schools to push tuitions above market value with no risk. If both parties don’t share risk, it’s not a free market and nothing of value has been produced.
EdX is the way of the future. Education still won't be free, but compared to physical attendance the costs should be GREATLY reduced (perhaps cheapest in the world, outside of locations where the government picks up the bill).
