I just went to Seattle for the first time a few weeks ago. It's the most degenerate city I've ever seen in my life. There are homeless everywhere downtown and one even started an altercation with me in 7/11. The whole city stinks like weed and there are gay flags everywhere, along with some trans flags.

I found most of the people downtown to be extremely rude and "on edge," I assume because they don't know who is and who isn't a homeless person coming into their stores. Everybody looks shifty-eyed. The infrastructure itself was nice, relatively clean, but it's full of Chinese, Indians, and homeless people that ruin everything.

It's bigger and better when it comes to development than it has ever been in it's history, it just has a crisis with the homeless and housing in general due to the explosion of growth
The cost of living still isn't as prohibitive as New York or San Francisco due to the huge open areas surrounding the city that helps alleviate some of the pressure , so I still have hope things will get better.
It's going through growing pains, difficult ones at that but I don't think the city is "dying", it just needs to figure out how to solve some hard problems.

Yeah I don't really get that part because SPD still has a massive presence here, so they just need to solve some policy questions when it comes to drug enforcement and a lot of problems will be solved. They certainly have the budget and man power to do it.

And they come to Seattle because cops don't arrest them because they don't get charged so the cops don't even bother. Why book them if they're just gonna get released back into the streets. I have to give it to them though they've cleaned up Rainier a TON from even just 10 years ago. SPD can be effective, they just seem unwilling or the policy doesn't allow them to be effective else where in the rest of the city. Rainier had a murder/violence issue though whereas the rest of the city has a homeless/drug issue which is why I think they were more willing to put in the hard work to clean up that part of the city.

Last time I went to Bellevue I honestly couldn't tell I was in America. Half Mumbai and half Shanghai.
