I am a software engineer. I lived in over 40 different countries. I usually stay in one place for a month or two and work full time hours. I usually keep one job for 2-3 years. I visit my office twice a year and pay my taxes in my home country as if i physiclly living there. This way of living is way more adventerous and economical. In London I'd be paying £800+ just to rent a room. In Asia or Mexico is enough to rent an apartment, pay for fresh food, party and do weekend sighseeing. Then i have better weather, dont waiste money and time on public transportation etc. I save way more than when i had a standard office job. I saved 6 digit figure (gbp) before my 26th birthday. Its all possible with good planning.
First world countries are becoming way to expensive to live in. I recently got perm residence in Mexico and gonna buy a property soon. With my own basic property in Mexico, i can easily survive on £10/day - think about this when recession hits... (talking about security). Low living cost also mean that i can work less and have time to build my own projects, potentially startups. You go and feed crazy property bubbles that will enslave you for 30-40 years but I decide not to do so. Obviously its not a holiday. I never worked on the beach or in the hammock. I need a quiet place, desk and 2 monitors. But for me its still way better than vegetating my whole life in one place so expensive that i have no money left af the end of the month because my rent, perm job tax, car tax, car insurance, pertrol and expensive food and services leave me with nothing. In exchange of course you get your security which i dont have... £70/week job seekers allowance. Good luck with that in London

If you dont have addictions or hobbies that cost too much i don't understand the point in living in urban cities or tier 1 countries specially if you aren't a social person. I currently make a passive living working few hours a month while learning new things everyday. If you arent addicted to jewish substances or activities moving to a cheaper location is a much better choice. Places in SEA are especially great.
