Yep, dust has settled. Though the recent issues have scarred me a bit ... and this is why I feel I might be more easily tempted than I would have had before. Have not found my way around the city yet but won't be the last visit for sure. Next time maybe ;)

Why is it not "Sie sieht gern ihn laufen"? Also why is the translation "She sees he likes to run" not correct?

It's correct, but sounds extremely awkward. The adverb should not be placed at this position.

German translation: "Sie sieht, er läuft gern." "gern" in the aforementioned context "Sie sieht ihn gern laufen" refers to "sieht", not to "laufen".

german sentences are constructed differently, it also has to be "Sie sieht, das er gern läuft" otherwise it sounds like Autist German

also you might notice that the english translation changed its actual content

therefore the second translation is not giving the same information than number 1
