I've heard that Green Bay has gotten a bit blacked over time, haven't passed through in 20 years, so I'm not sure if it's accurate or not. Appleton always just seemed depressing, it's not a bad area in some ways, but doesn't seem like there's much job opportunity there from what I've also heard. Maybe that's changing, who knows, I mostly just keep to the southern 1/4 of the state unless I'm heading up to the Wisconsin Dells for a bit to relax.
