Yep. Jow Forums is an echo chamber in its own right, but your opinion isn't hidden or deleted if it goes against the narrative.
It's also easy to tell who's just stirring shit here versus someone who genuinely thinks differently, and discussion actually happens from time to time (although not without a lot of retarded name calling and mockery).
Jow Forums and Jow Forums make no claims about promoting diverse opinions, but they do exist. R*ddit is awful, because, conversely, it pretends to promote discussion while censoring the fuck out it with groupthink and authoritarian mods.

The account system on Reddit also affects discussion. On Jow Forums, what you say is completely detached from your reputation so your arguments have to stand on their own. Everyone here is equally worthless in that regard. Meanwhile, on any platform with accounts, your reputation can have an enormous influence on how people perceive your posts. Also, some topics are so taboo that associating them with your name is social suicide. That problem does not exist on Jow Forums.

Why not go there and force it to no longer be an echochamber?

It's funny. If you take about anything that pokes hole in their daily narrative you will be mass downvoted. When you reach -50-100 karma your post no longer shows up for anyone but yourself. Twitter has the same shadowban system. Asked some Jow Forumspolitics mods about it and pic related is the response i got

It used to be good. The difference is Jow Forums has always sucked, Reddit has evolved into mass cancer.

5 years ago it was shitty, but it's devolved into complete propaganda. Half of the people on there are paid shills, the other 90% aren't even americans, and they're all commenting on american politics. If anything right wing does get voted, its removed by admins or mods, and I'm pretty sure the admins are fucking with vote counts anyway, if not chinese bot farms.

Reddit is the reason I am now on Jow Forums. I went there mostly for funny memes and cat pictures but the way they constantly tried to shove their political opinion down my throat made me despise it so much I had to go to the polar opposite.
