Is Andrew Yang fearmingering us on automation?
Jordan Rivera
Aaron Collins
Beep Boop do not listen to insectoid man
Gabriel Walker
Go take a drive around rural communities and you tell me if he's fearmongering
Evan Foster
no. there's like 2 malls left in my city. Amazon has shut down almost every small store. it'd be cool if there was more than fucking 5 COMIC STORES IN NYC
Joshua Phillips
Yes, but not because it's not coming, because it's not coming nearly as fast as he's trying to say it is and the consequences won't be nearly as bad as he's trying to portray them.
It's what politicians do.
Asher Cox
Yang is an NPC candidate.
Jeremiah Ward
what do you think the connection is between whatever it is you think you see in rural communities and having better CNC machines?
Mason Phillips
my thoughts exactly
Tyler White
Yes, but UBI is worth it for other reasons.
It'll effectively be a net wealth transfer from those already on welfare to struggling working class and middle class Americans. Obviously he can't say this in the Democratic primaries, so he uses other angles.
Colton Sanchez
there are hundreds of thousands of jobs that could be automated right now but aren't the problem with automation is our economic system only rewards capitalists with profits everyone else receives wages so there is no way to distribute wealth without labor
Nicholas Phillips
when more things are produced, prices fall, which allow anyone - whether they own industrial capital or not - to be wealthier by virtue of their purchasing power being greater than it otherwise would be with less productive output
Carter Bennett
it's coming and he's trying to get ahead before your parents and probably you ending up on the streets homeless and humiliated. UBI will also help stop immigration, legal and illegal.
And when the banks, once again collapse, something people don't seem to be paying any attention to, you'll already be bailed out , at least have a safety net this time.
You decide, plant apple trees or flowers in your neighborhood, volunteer coaching kids playing baseball, learn to play the piano or guitar or work at McDonalds flipping burgers?
Be a human being or stay a slave. which one?
Michael Evans
Yes. To a large degree. And also how he plans to finance the UBI which in his own estimate would be 1.8 trillion annually. Is to carbon tax the shit out of the energy sector and industry in general for using fossile fuels. Care to think about what that will do for jobs in those sectors?
>but yang says he can pay for UBI through a vat tax.
Nope he´s gaslighting you it´s vat tax + a massive carbon tax. Here is his own policy paper admitting it.
yang2020.com
>As President, I will…
>Propose a carbon fee and dividend systems that:
>Sets an initial carbon tax of $40/ton, which would increase in regular intervals
So he has no upper ceiling of how high this carbon tax should be. So he thinks he can just squeeze the living daylights out of industry and energy sector that way. For all the monies he requires for ubi and other things. With zero consequences.
>Use that tax to fund, after administrative fees:
>(50%) The Universal Basic Income
>(50%) Projects that are enhancing efficiency of fossil fuels or increasing availability of renewable resources
>Create a border carbon adjustment to protect American goods that would:
>charge a fee to imports from countries that don’t impose a similar carbon fee, or some type of carbon tax
>provide a rebate to exports to countries that don’t impose a similar carbon fee, or some type of carbon tax
James Gomez
You're an idiot
Chase Ross
All of his rhetoric is 100% kosher, when it's not kosher he apologizes and walks it back as this last week proves.
Aiden Flores
He looks like the perfect beta leader of all betas

Mason Powell
THIS
Logan Rogers
I'm actually gonna save this, thx
David Brooks
>so there is no way to distribute wealth without labor
That's not the problem. Labour is just too cheap.
Aaron Campbell
that is not an argument. when we have UBI perhaps you can sign up for a course in logic, learn how to think rather than remain a greedy fucking boomer moron.
Isaiah Butler
You have to understand all the 'free stuff' that bernie and others and people like yang promise you. It needs to be paid for through taxes. To get all those things you would have to pay 70% tax, for all including the highest income earners and it still probably won´t even be enough. This is why this charlatain the only way he can guarantee you 1000 dollars a month is with a literal fucking carbon tax on industry and energy sector! And get you to believe that it´s a low cost thing that people just don´t do right now because they are mean or something.
USA is 21 trillion in debt and has 1/3rd of pop on means tested government assistance. You can´t use debt to subsidize government spending anymore, been doing that for years in the USA. So there will essentially come a period where you have to increase gdp massively aswell as for maybe 10-15 years have to pay 60-70% tax. Just to reduce the deficit down to where you can use national debt again to subsidize some of the stuff. And take the weight off the taxpayers.
USA is running out of options that doesn´t include raising taxes massively in other words. Because too few in the US have paid enough taxes. Aswell as people have too small incomes and thus the tax revenue have become smaller. And employers have taken most of the wealth untaxed into their personal wealth. Another way out of it would be to go and tax all the super wealthiest total assets by 40% to recoup all the taxes they haven´t been paying for years. But you´ll still end up with paying like 50% tax rate for a decade just because of how much money USA has burned. If you want universal healthcare and universal education on top of it. it´s going to be more.
You need to understand that just taxing the wealthy is not going to be enough to cover it. Because there are so few of them. And giving tons of taxpayer money to several hundred million people is ridiculously expensive. Try to run the numbers.
Dylan Gonzalez
be gone Euro white trash, you can't even vote in the US
David Rogers
yw
just 1000 dollars doesn´t sound like much, now realize it´s 325 million people that gets 1000 dollars a month. Is why to come up with that kind of money out of thin air he needs to literally fucking choke the energy sector and industry with taxation. Otherwise you can´t come up with the money without taxing all americans on their future income like 60-70% especially if you want universal healthcare and shit like that on top of it.
That you have a problem with the facts has nothing to do with me. I am quoting directly from his policy papers.
Ethan Jackson
Yang is going to harness automation for all humanity, not just the billionaires.
Take the pink automation pill.
Jason Wilson
aww looks like a Yang fag got triggered

Whew.

VAT = Value Added TAX. robots are a value, they do the work of 2 to 5 men. Every man they replace their value is added to profits, but robots don't shop, human being buy products. You want to maintain a human slave economy rather than foster a smarter citizenry.
You also hate progress, you don't want indoor plumbing, modern tech, you would rather shit in a hole outside and wipe your ass with your hand.
You are either a slaver or the housenigger.
David Perry
you need to remain an incel slave you're simply worthless.
Landon Walker
you're an idiot

Grayson Taylor

Will you secure the bag? Y/N
Noah Campbell
the incentives for price rigging is always for the parties to be the first ones to break with agreement
and unsurprisingly that's what we always witness happen
Cooper King
automation is comming here anyway, you can't stop progress, and replacing humans in meanial tasks is inevitable, just as replacing them in everything else is
Charles Clark
My country has a VAT of 25% sales tax. we also are taxed around 50-60% and have a car tax of 180% to afford universal healthcare and universal education which is a fucking budget MAMMOTH when the system is in operation and the only way to run it without going bankrupt is through high taxes decent wages and extremely low unemployment. Is why it is often called a bumblebee model. Because people wonder. How the fuck can a bumblebee fly with all that weight and tiny wings. By flapping extremely fucking hard!
But that is not what we are talking about. You are not taxing automation. What yang is talking about is a fucking gigantic carbon tax on all energy and industry! Just to finance the fucking UBI! What will that do to jobs and energy prices btw.?
It´s also not going to be enough, you need far far more taxes like 60-70% on everyone especially on high income earners to even run these fucking systems you think you can afford with snap of a finger because morons like bernie and yang gaslight you about it.
John Jenkins
we called your mother and let her know it's never too late to abort.
if you don't want $1000 a month give it to the Israelis kike
Jordan Gutierrez
Yes. The level of automation he’s throwing out won’t happen for 15-25 years, so he’s actually accelerating the job losses by encouraging a faster push to automate. Only retards can’t see this.
Aaron Wilson
Who doesn´t want 1000 dollars a month. Idiot. The question is where is it going to come from. Yang wants a carbon tax on energy and industry in general just to finance that fucking ubi. You have no idea the ramifications of that shit on those sectors.
it´s the thing about free stuff. it´s ALWAYS paid for by taxes somewhere. Or you can rake up your national debt to subsidize part of it and part tax money. problem with USA. you already maxed that out it´s 21 trillion now. You can´t really keep doing that anymore without raising the taxes through the fucking roof. Because your taxes have been so low for a long time as this was building up.
You simply cannot afford it you dipshit.
James Jenkins
>MY FEELINGS DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR FACTS!

Jose Collins
you mean, the machine where 6 people worked on and now nobody is working on but the guy who sits up on the balcony pressing buttons
>what changed? its a fucking mystery
Jason Foster
you need more black migrants in the EU.
Yang's carbon tax is tossed back into converting to alt-energy, which is profiting people who collect and sell it back. It will also be used to CONTINUE to subsidize heat/electricity for the poor. which is ALREADY being done. UBI will end up saving money in this area because of the drop in subsidized legal and illegal immigration.
Ryder Walker
can't undocumented with a stolen Id fill out the opt in form?
Isaac Barnes

Robert Walker
>so where is the 500$ rent three room in NY then

In some ways yes, I also think people without jobs will be slowly culled or sterilized

Jayden King
He is a hardcore socialist like any other insectoid
Cooper Campbell
>you need more black migrants in the EU.
Look at this guy. So btfo.
>aww looks like a Yang fag got triggered
it´s funny because i literally post yangs policy page and quotes him how he plans to finance UBI. Through a massive fucking carbon tax. Just to be able to afford ubi. Which is a juggernaut of a pricetag on it obviously to give 1000 dollars a month to all americans. Or what he says is if they already recieve a subsidy say if they already get 700 in taxpayer, he make sure to add 300 on top of that so they get 1000 dollars each month guaranteed. No matter what. So he estimates in one of his interviews that it´s 1.8 trillion a year pricetag just for the ubi. he´s essentially using that 1000 dollars a month to buy fucking votes. And he gaslights them with that it´s the VAT that will pay for it. But his policy papers says very clearly it´s the massive carbon tax on industry and energy companies that will pay for it.
So he´s just spassing around angry that he might not get 1000 dollars a month. He seems rather unconcerned about that it will be accrued through massive taxation. Which is precisely how you fund everything with. And national debt can´t go much higher in USA it´s 21 trillion. US administrations have been raping the national debt for many years now. To avoid raising taxes massively. And now they are at point where they can´t do that anymore so there are 3 options.
a) increase taxes through roof to like 50-70% tax on all americans but especially on highest bracket of income earners.
b) go to highest wealth earners and take all their assets and tax all their assets in a 40% tax on all their personal wealth. to make up for the taxes they have been dodging for decades. Then you can lower tax on all americans to maybe 40-50%
Can´t use national debt to subsidize it´s already too high/basically maxed out, because of unwillingness to raise taxes for all these years.
if you want uni healthcare etc. taxes will have to be even higher!
Jonathan Wilson
a particular productive process taking less human input for equal/more output means you have more of whatever it is that's being produced with less hands needing to be tied to that particular process
their time/energy/labor is freed up from one mode of production and are then able to be applied to other areas while maintaining the same or greater output
you're thinking when people become displaced from one mode of production (because they're no longer needed there to meet demand pressures) that they stay displaced forever, when that's not the case at all - the number of permanently unemployed people is vanishingly small, and has little to do with industries shifting (industries shift constantly, and have always done so for the whole history of industry)
Hudson Williams
>where is it going to come from.
Same place we paid for 2 wars, bank bailouts, and welfare programs.
Jordan King
here's a good audio senpai
youtube.com
Gavin Martinez
This pretty much sums Yang up, I really appreciate your responses
Hunter Reyes
It's a serious issue that is only growing BUT his solution is incorrect.
> You have millions of whites(especially men) facing unemployment in the future and an inevitable conflict for survival.
Why intervene ? It is time for whites in this country to realize they are becoming the minority and they are the ones being treated unfairly and if they don't do something about it, they will slowly dwindle to nothing. Let the automation scare grow, only then can I have a hope for this country saving itself
Angel Scott
So option c) in tandem with option a) and b) and raising gdp aswell as get as many as possible working. Is to introduce on top of it a massive carbon tax on everything to be able to afford the fucking spending. This is what yang is going to do. Taxing industry and energy will ofcourse cripple industry and increase energy costs for the end user. And possibly massive job loss aswell.
USA is not in a good situation.
The automation part is a tiny fucking thing in comparison to that. That he uses to justify the carbon tax.
>Automation is going to destroy not only blue collar factor and driving jobs but white collar office work, accounting, insurance and bank underwriting, call center work, the list goes on and on. This is coming whether you want it or not.
I know people in the industry with regards to the coming 5g and automation and stuff like that. You are fearmongering but there will be jobloss from it ofcourse. What you should focus on is government effort and private sector effort on retraining of these people to do other jobs! Not fucking introduce a carbon tax on all industry. And you should also raise taxes on everyone and including on the very wealthy. USA have simply gone a long time and paid very little taxes. And raised the US national debt. What you think you can afford, you can´t really afford. The money have to come through taxes or raising national debt to pay for it. You can´t raise national debt anymore. You need as many people working as humanly possible and high taxes on virtually everyone. If you want to even have a chance of being able to afford the things you think are so easy with snap of a finger.
You look at scandinavia and see universal healthcare. Forget to say how much taxes you need to pay to afford it, and how low unemployment + high taxes you need to have enough tax revenue to fucking pay for it!
Caleb Flores
>Same place we paid for 2 wars, bank bailouts, and welfare programs.
Yes, you maxed out your national debt and paid little taxes. No longer possible to do anymore.
Evan Hall
I'd imagine not. I don't know exactly how the process would work though.
He says that he would be a bit stricter on immigration, but give current illegals an 18 year path to citizenship.

you have homeowners mafias and building/zoning mafias who don't get their income via competitive processes
when you have groups that get theirs no matter what, and aren't in competition with others, they don't have normal competitive human incentives to provide the best to the people they trade with, since those people don't trade with anyone in the capacity of their mafia-work - they just take their goon-tributes and live their cushy lives

Aaron Wright
>We didn't maxed out. That's BS
No it´s not. 21 trillion is where it´s at. 23 trill or so is point of no return where it is so high that you will struggle immensely to reduce it for a long time. With very high taxes and very low unemployment on basically every fucking person especially on the top 1% wealthy. But just on the top 1% wealthy is not even close to being enough. You have 1/3rd of your people in your country on government means tested assistance right now to make matters even worse for you. Gravy train is not looking so good anymore. The reason we pay very high taxes here is because we are fiscally conservatives and don´t want to be in the situation you are currently in fiscally! Because that´s what otherwise happens when you don´t pay your bills. And you just spend what you don´t have anyways. I don´t envy the future american workforce. You will have to work for decades with very high taxes to get back to the situation you had a few decades ago where the taxes can be reduced again. The gdp growth necessary for not raising taxes to like 60% on everybody even with a top tax of like 80% on the top top bracket earners. Is simply not going to be enough to cover the costs. And you utopianly want universal healthcare and shit like this on top of it. It´s amazing you don´t see it. Ask your people to run the fucking math.
Christopher Brown
