Judea and Galilee were two separate states and political entities, as illustrated on the map of Palestine in the time of our Savior in your Bible. The ACTUAL word used in the Bible for "Jew" is Idumaean which is translated until the 1850-60s as Judean and since then as Jew.
But what does the word Idumaean actually mean ? Where can we find it outside of the Bible?
