You're right we're not even close. We've far below it. God, look around. But if not, just look at the media, have a look at films from the 1920s and look at ours. Look at our newspapers and books and compare them to theirs. Look at how we behave and even how we dress. There's no comparison. Pornography is now a part of normal life. I have read German newspapers from the time. You can find scans online, though the German institutions don't seem to be keen to scan many; better is Austria with ANNO: anno.onb.ac.at/. It's a fascinating glimpse of a lost world.
