Supplanting May has no benefit if her successor still pushes the WA.

Erm, what does this have to do with politics?

It's better that way. Imagine if her replacement is worse. At least May is bringing default no deal closer.

Good article from the Guardian, Larry Elliott is one of the few leavers on the staff.

Mayhaps I'll see some of you on the 29th. Not normally my thing to travel to Mordor, nor to give my money to (((South-Eastern Trains))), but I thought it would be a good larp and something to do just once.

There is that but Churchill lost power after 1945 and the then Labour government were retarded (muh NHS) but also pilled. It's why the US went out of it's way to bankrupt the UK giving money away to rebuild Germany.

Still politics though, Jow Forums is not just for discussing electoral politics, it is a forum for unpopular ideas (or should be)

Oi, she's after us.

Boris Johnson's sex change

How quickly can we orgainse a national general strike?

Many people don't realise that both parties went into the 1945 election promising to implement Beveridge in full. If the result had gone the other way, the Tories would have claimed the mantle as founders of muh NHS.

What the fuck do you mean "what does this have to do with politics?"

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF MODERN LEFTISM

>6. Almost everyone will agree that we live in a deeply troubled society. One of the most widespread manifestations of the craziness of our world is leftism, so a discussion of the psychology of leftism can serve as an introduction to the discussion of the problems of modern society in general.

>7. But what is leftism? During the first half of the 20th century leftism could have been practically identified with socialism. Today the movement is fragmented and it is not clear who can properly be called a leftist. When we speak of leftists in this article we have in mind mainly socialists, collectivists, “politically correct” types, feminists, gay and disability activists, animal rights activists and the like. But not everyone who is associated with one of these movements is a leftist. What we are trying to get at in discussing leftism is not so much movement or an ideology as a psychological type, or rather a collection of related types. Thus, what we mean by “leftism” will emerge more clearly in the course of our discussion of leftist psychology. (Also, see paragraphs 227-230.)

>8. Even so, our conception of leftism will remain a good deal less clear than we would wish, but there doesn’t seem to be any remedy for this. All we are trying to do here is indicate in a rough and approximate way the two psychological tendencies that we believe are the main driving force of modern leftism. We by no means claim to be telling the WHOLE truth about leftist psychology. Also, our discussion is meant to apply to modern leftism only. We leave open the question of the extent to which our discussion could be applied to the leftists of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

She's not been briefed by little sister.

Well now i know. I understand that the nationalisation of the health service was in transition and the war if anything galvanised that.

Industrial Society And Its Future is literally full of political and sociological content from the opening paragraphs onwards, and so are all of the other titles. There's nothing "tin foil hat" about any of it. It has next to nothing to do with conspiracy theories.

That's a fuck up already, who wants to get stuck in London on a Friday?
I know the date is symbolic, but it's a fuck up.

>I am enslaved by machines. But, like most slaves, I know deep down that I chose my fate. I calculated long ago that I preferred a life with mobile phones and computers to one without them. The price is high. It includes the loss of privacy, the unceasing availability to outsiders, the time wasted on the internet, the books unread, the conversations which never happened, the views from train windows that I completely missed as I checked my Twitter feed. I am sorry, but I am not that sorry.

>50.The conservatives are fools: They whine about the decay of traditional values, yet they enthusiastically support technological progress and economic growth. Apparently it never occurs to them that you can’t make rapid, drastic changes in the technology and the economy of a society without causing rapid changes in all other aspects of the society as well, and that such rapid changes inevitably break down traditional values.

That's the advantage of a general strike, espeically considering leave voters actually do necessary jobs

>He says on the internet
You probably have a phone as well lol

Kek!

The problem is that the TUC are bought-and-paid-for Remainers, and a general strike without union participation would leave strikers vulnerable to being sacked. Targeted strikes of essential workers (fuel tanker drivers being the most obvious) would be more effective.

Yeah, I agree with that, a general strike will have a greater impact than a bunch of faggots going to a part of London the puppet masters don't care about.
That said, it's also true that due to the necessary nature of the jobs there is more in the way of contingency and redundancy, making any meaningful impact difficult to achieve with a single day strike.
If you want a proper impact it has to start on a Monday and last more than a week, only days more, but still more.

>Emmanuel Macron is convinced the answer to Europe’s economic problems is closer integration. The French president wants the eurozone to have its own finance minister in charge of tax and spending policy for the single currency zone. But for the idea to catch on, Macron needs the support of Germany and Angela Merkel has not been wildly enthusiastic. It’s not hard to see why. German exporters have done well out of monetary union and Merkel knows that German taxpayers would be expected to bankroll spending in poorer eurozone countries.

>Macron’s plan has a logic to it. The eurozone is a half-completed project, lacking the political structure that would give it a chance of working. What’s more, if Europe continues to underperform economically, the alternative to closer integration is disintegration. Not immediately, because returning to national currencies or moving to a hard and soft euro, would be fraught with difficulties. Crunch time will only come when the next recession blows in. It might not be all that far away.

I was working during the last one of those, there was little to no impact for the first 4 days, other than soccer mums being salty about queuing at Tesco.
By the end of the 1st week I made it from Soho to Liverpool street in 15 minutes by car at lunch time, this is a record I've never broken since.

why wasn't the first referendum legally-binding anyway?

No referendum in the UK is legally binding, we're a (((representative))) democracy not a direct democracy

I think you're right. I hope a decent sum of people make the effort though. I'll be going. I campaigned during the referendum but haven't done anything politically active since.

I'd like to see the mass of self-employed plumbers, electricians etc say fuck you to the remainer class

Shouldn't have said they would respect the result then.

Any recommended documentaries, books/audiobooks and educational videos? Historical, geographical, political, or just learning skills in general. Thanks

It would breach the principle of Parliamentary sovereignty. At the moment MPs seem to be using the doctrine of Parliamentary sovereignty to avoid being sovereign. Just another day in Clown World.

what's the uk version of 'soccer moms'?

watch some Thomas Sowell vids on youtube - Uncommon Knowledge at the Hoover Institute

yummy mummies

you can still have legally-binding referendum in representitive democracy

I don't think such a thing exists, it's seems to be a Burger thing.

referenda*

Attached: shut it down.png (480x300, 273K)

why?

As far as documentaries go, watch anything by Adam Curtis

I suppose Parliament could say "ok this referendum will be legally binding".

you don't live in cheshire

We have them, not sure if they have a name but they all drive big 4x4 cars and will run you over to save a couple of seconds.

Ha! you found me out!

Think we do though, not sure. Usually them surrey women who drive ''SUV's''

Football mums?
I don't know.

they're everywhere here m8

Representative democracy is shit, what alternatives are there that involve abolishing the House of Lords and the Monarchy?

Attached: 1547980234995.jpg (742x536, 79K)

imagine if the remainers and the haters had got on board with Brexit and supported Britain. holy fuck we would have actually been great again. I really didn't expect this level of quisling when we got the result as leave all those years ago. SAD

Attached: caramac.jpg (1874x1426, 1.35M)

That's just a denialist way of saying MILF.

Football here isn't a middle class game, wheras in muricca it's usually middle class or spic

Yeh, blame Project Fear really, Remainers are never gonna be onboard with Brexit. Even if we did get Brexit, they'd be a Rejoiner movement springing up right away, cos "muh WW3 if we don't and all that".

It will make you less racist if you watch a nigger talking sense for a change. When all you see is David Lammy and Akala it's easy to forget they aren't all like that, and all groups have outliers.

I don't know, they gave up on us joining the euro pretty quickly when the sky failed to fall in

Luv me a caramac

It just shows that EU integration is going faster than we though. United States of Europe soon. We have to get the fuck out.

Yeh, who knows, I dare say there's quite a few soft Remainers who would come round, especially if the sky didn't fall in should we (ever) leave.

thanks

>muh WW3 if we don't and all that
It's like they don't know there are only two nuclear powers in the EU, and the second is in open revolt.

if you still want democracy, your only other options are direct democracy and "liquid democracy"
there are also non-democratic republics like military republics, platonic republics, etc

Why don't we have our own superhero/mascot to take on Stop-Brexit-Man?

he looks like a pretentious beta
