I think the GW hate was somewhat comparable, in that liberals thought he was dumb as a brick and got massively triggered by the Iraq War, and thought he was scarily authoritarian with the War on Terror, the PATRIOT act, etc. Those were at least legitimate policy disagreements though (other than the Bush is dumb thing). Maybe it just seemed that way because I was still a kid and it was my babby's first presidency that I was aware of on the news.
