Can you show us evidence in scripture ?
Dylan Roberts
I will not pull up stuff from scripture because if the Bible is inspired by God, we as humans beings have no right to interpret it for ourselves and pollute it with our nature. I want historical evidence that non Jewish christians did not worship on Sunday.
Adrian Nelson
Even your meme text does not say sabbath day, day of rest . Jesus came to fullfill the law not destroy . thus saturday is sabbath and sunday is lords day
Caleb Nguyen
I will not pull up scripture verses; however, I will quote passages from early christians on Sunday and Sabbath worship from the first centuries:
5th Century
St. Augustine:
“The day now known as the Lord’s Day, the eighth, namely, which is also the first day of the week.”St. Augustine, Letters of St. Augustine, 55, Chapter XIII.
4th Century A.D. 306
Peter, Bishop of Alexandria in Egypt:
“But the Lord’s Day we celebrate as a day of joy, because on it, he rose again.”Canon 15.
3rd Century A.D. 270
Anatolius, Bishop of Laodicea, in Asia Minor:
“Our regard for the Lord’s resurrection which took place on the Lord’s Day will lead us to celebrate it.”Chapter X.
3rd Century About A.D. 250
The Apostolic Constitution:
“On the day of our Lord’s resurrection, which is the Lord’s Day, meet more diligently.”
Book 2, sec. 7.
3rd Century A.D. 250
Cyprian, Bishop of Carthage in Africa:
“The eighth day, that is, the first day after the Sabbath and the Lord’s Day.”Epistle 58, section 4.
2nd Century A.D. 200
Tertullian in Africa:
“We solemnize the day after Saturday in contradiction to those who call this day their Sabbath.”Apology, Chapter XVI.
2nd Century A.D. 194
Clement of Alexandria, Egypt:
“He, in fulfillment of the precept, according to the gospel, keeps the Lord’s Day, when he abandons an evil disposition, and assumes that of the Gnostic, glorifying the Lord’s resurrection in himself.”Book 7, Chapter XII.
2nd Century A.D. 140
Justin Martyr:
“But Sunday is the day which we all hold our common assembly, because Jesus Christ, our Saviour, on the same day rose from the dead.”Apology, Chapter LXVII.
2nd Century A.D. 120
Barnabas:
“We keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day on which Jesus rose again from the dead.”Chapter XVII.

This is why I could never christianity, there is no logic and people like you love to make retarded leaps in logic. Like how does jesus dying make the sabbath change? Makes no fucking sense no one said that dumbass. Jeusus died and woke up on sunday so it changed lolz
Where does it say this? Why did they change it hundreds of years later then?
Evan Wright
Evidence ?
sure, when the romans changed the day of rest the Christians had to buy and sell on saturday in effect breaking the commandment . And for the first time in 300 years violence was done by christians
>323 Pope Sylvester I in his calendar give to Sunday, first day of the week, name Lord´s day and give commandment to churchmembers to keep it as a holy day and so he changed old Christian and Jewish sabbath to Sunday.[12]
325: The Arian controversy erupts in Alexandria, causing widespread violence and disruptions among Christians.

I have been to 7th day adventist churches...
They are definitely a fringe group. They seem normal at first, but have a lot of ridiculous and unbiblical ideas, like no alcohol, and that the world will end in our lifetime. It's definitely a majority-black sect, and that comes with all the unseemly things blacks do, like for instance, creepy elders that try to sleep with young girls in the church.
Please do yourself a favor and join a mainstream sect of Christianity.
Jaxon Hill
Yeah sorry m8 you dont take ellen white as authority , neither do i accept anything from the church fathers

Yes that is totaly not about the sabbath but nice try . No one says that he can just choose a day for the sabbath . the sabbath is the seventh day . The same day God rested... Did he suddenly rest a other day
The Seventh Day: God Rests
(Exodus 16:22-36; Hebrews 4:1-11)
>1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

As outlined by numerous Fathers of the Church, Christ was the expectation of all the nations, and as such, many of the writings from disperate cultures throughout the world tell of and indicate the great Redeemer of the whole world Who was to come: Jesus Christ.
One incredible example of this was the Sibyl (from the Greek "sibylla", "prophetess") of Erythrae. (en.wikipedia.org

20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

>One of the earliest proponents of this theory was, in fact, the emperor Constantine himself. In his Oration to the Assembly of the Saints, transcribed by Eusebius Pamphilius in the early 4th century AD, Constantine presents evidence that the Erythræan Sibyl, writing in Asia Minor hundreds of years before the birth of Christ, predicted both His coming and His judgment upon mankind. Constantine explains:
> "The Erythræan Sibyl, then, who herself assures us that she lived in the sixth generation after the flood, was a priestess of Apollo, who wore the sacred fillet in imitation of the God she served, who guarded also the tripod encompassed with the serpent's folds, and returned prophetic answers to those who approached her shrine; having been devoted by the folly of her parents to this service, a service productive of nothing good or noble, but only of indecent fury, such as we find recorded in the case of Daphne. On one occasion, however, having rushed into the sanctuary of her vain superstition, she became really filled with inspiration from above, and declared in prophetic verses the future purposes of God."

He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.

i think it would be insane that there would be 100% proof of Jesus while God wants people to have faith
>some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened. After the priests had assembled with the elders, they devised a plan to give a large sum of money to the soldiers, telling them, "You must say, 'His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.' If this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story is still told among the Jews to this day.

[From the Catholic Mirror of Sept. 2, 1893]
Our attention has been called to the above subject in the past week by the receipt of a brochure of twenty-one pages, published by the International Religious Liberty Association, entitled, "Appeal and Remonstrance," embodying resolutions adopted the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventists (February 24th, '93). The resolutions criticize and censure, with much acerbity, the action of the United States Congress, and of the Supreme Court, for the invading the rights of the people by closing the World's Fair on Sunday.
The Adventists are the only body of Christians with the Bible as their teacher, who can find no warrant in its pages for the change of the day from the seventh to the first. Hence their appellation, "Seventh-day Adventists." Their cardinal principle consists in setting apart Saturday for the exclusive worship of God, in conformity with the positive command of God himself, repeatedly reiterated in the sacred books of the Old and New Testaments, literally obeyed by the children of Israel for thousands of years to this day, and endorsed by the teaching and practice of the Son of God whilst on earth.
Per contra, the Protestants of the world, the Adventists excepted, with the same Bible as their cherished and sole infallible teacher, by their practice, since their appearance in the sixteenth century, with the time-honored practice of the Jewish people before their eyes, have rejected the day named for His worship by God, and assumed, in apparent contradiction of His command, a day for His worship never once referred to for that purpose, in the pages of that Sacred Volume.
Jonathan Green
What Protestant pulpit does not ring almost every Sunday with loud and impassioned invectives against Sabbath violation? Who can forget the fanatical clamor of the Protestant ministers throughout the length and breadth of the land against opening the gates of the World's Fair on Sunday? the thousands of petitions, signed by millions, to save the Lord's Day from desecration? Surely, such general and widespread excitement and noisy remonstrance could not have existed without the strongest grounds for such animated protests.
....
Before closing this series of articles, we beg to call the attention of our readers once more to our caption, introductory of each; viz., 1st—The Christian Sabbath, the genuine offspring of the union of the Holy Spirit with the Catholic Church His spouse. 2nd—The claim of Protestantism to any part therein proved to be groundless, self-contradictory, and suicidal.
The first proposition needs little proof. The Catholic Church for over one thousand years before the existence of a Protestant, by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday. We say by virtue of her divine mission, because He who called Himself the "Lord of the Sabbath," endowed her with His own power to teach, "he that heareth you, heareth Me;" commanded all who believe in Him to hear her, under penalty of being placed with "heathen and publican;" and promised to be with her to the end of the world. She holds her charter as teacher from Him — a charter as infallible as perpetual. The Protestant world at its birth found the Christian Sabbath too strongly entrenched to run counter to its existence; it was therefore placed under the necessity of acquiescing in the arrangement, thus implying the Church's right to change the day, for over three hundred years. The Christian Sabbath is therefore to this day, the acknowledged offspring of the Catholic Church as spouse of the Holy Ghost, without a word of remonstrance from the Protestant world.
Austin Carter
Let us now, however, take a glance at our second proposition, with the Bible alone as the teacher and guide in faith and morals. This teacher most emphatically forbids any change in the day for paramount reasons. The command calls for a "perpetual covenant." The day commanded to be kept by the teacher has never once been kept, thereby developing an apostasy from an assumedly fixed principle, as self-contradictory, self-stultifying, and consequently as suicidal as it is within the power of language to express. Nor are the limits of demoralization yet reached. Far from it. Their pretense for leaving the bosom of the Catholic Church was for apostasy from the truth as taught in the written word. They adopted the written word as their sole teacher, which they had no sooner done than they abandoned it promptly, as these articles have abundantly proved; and by a perversity as willful as erroneous, they accept the teaching of the Catholic Church in direct opposition to the plain, unvaried, and constant teaching of their sole teacher in the most essential doctrine of their religion, thereby emphasizing the situation in what may be aptly designated "a mockery, a delusion, and a snare."
Should any of the Rev. Parsons, who are habituated to howl so vociferously over every real or assumed desecration of that pious fraud, the Bible Sabbath, think well of entering a protest against our logical and scriptural dissection of their mongrel pet, we can promise them that any reasonable attempt on their part to gather up the "disjecta membra" of the hybrid, and to restore to it a galvanized existence, will be met with genuine cordiality and respectful consideration on our part. But we can assure our readers that we know these reverend howlers too well to expect a solitary bark from them in this instance.

I'm an SDA.
We're actually less of a 'cult' than one might think, although I can certainly understand the connotations.
I'm not a big fan of Ellen G. White, desu.
Basically though, we tend to be Vegetarian health-conscious and more liberal socially while more conservative religiously, if that makes any sense.
But most importantly,
SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS ARE LESS ZIONIST THAN ABOUT ANY OTHER (((Evangelical))) group!
This is because we do NOT believe in dispensationalism, the Rapture, a literal Armageddon in Israel, or Jews as 'God's chosen people' (although SOME may still be pro-Israel culturally, though that is unlikely).
Also, many SDA's correctly view the USA as an Anti-Christ power.
Grayson Carter
>Hell, even 'god' ordered abraham to circumcise himself and all his males followers
cirp.org
The covenant between Abraham and God required the little bit of skin at the tip of foreskin to be removed. That covenant was abolished with Christ at the cross and was to never be practiced again. The Jews, being Jews, were angry at Christ and turned that abolished covenant into ritual mutilation that removed the ENTIRE foreskin.
Christians are not supposed to circumcise their sons.
Isaac Gutierrez

This is doctrinally correct today.

For an SDA perspective, I would watch the film series "The Seventh Day" narrated by Hal Holbrook, not an SDA himself.
Also, look up the Christians on the island of Iona, in Scotland, and additionally in Ethiopia.
Apparently, during the early centuries Christians would worship on both Saturday adn Sunday.
Tbh I don't consider it that huge of a deal and I have enjoyed attending Sunday services and Mass with Christian friends of different denominations.
Elijah Moore
Yeah Veith is interesting.
I have a friend in Nagasaki, Japan who is an SDA pastor and when I went to visit him he told me that he was frustrated that many in his congregation had started watching Veith's videos and become 'conspiracy theorists'... I had to stifle laugh and tell him "You have no idea how bad things really are."
And yeah I agree completely about E. G. White.
While I do consider there to be a lot of good things in the Conflict of the Ages series (5 large books) and Steps to Christ (very likely not actually authored by EGW) I still remember my frustration when attending a 'Bible Study' where actually all that was done was reading Ellen White's writings together.
However, MOST SDA's are not like this anymore, that was more of a 1970's and 80's thing and now it's only in the rural areas.
If anything, the pendulum has swung back the other way.
Brandon Lopez
>picture
I say this as an SDA that I wish a lot more Protestants (especially Evangelicals and SDA's) would have knowledge and respect for the church fathers.
The idea that many SDA's have the prophecy and guidance from God ceased after John the Revelator up until EGW, while simultaneously proclaiming themselves the 'true remnant' etc. is ridiculous.
Also, I could do without all the Anti-Catholic sentiment.
If only they could redirect it towards the REAL Anti-Christ/Synagogue of Satan, the Jews!
At least most of us aren't Zionists.
