BMI is bullshit. It gives men a higher then number and women a lower one then what’s is healthy. A 5 10 man is not overweight. A women with those dimensions is most likely overweight.

I work construction. I'm strong fat, but fat non the less.
It's slightly flawed in that it doesn't take into account what makes up the weight. It could be all fat; it could be all muscle. There could be a genetic abnormality in the person. BMI should simply be an indicator of the general area of where you want to be, but it isn't a good indicator of good or bad health in itself.

I am 6 feet (1.84) and weigh 84 kg, which supposedly is ideal. However I am aiming for 90 kg in my muscle training.
Will I reduce my stamina and bone resistance with the added weight? Is it unhealthy? Or are these charts just pseudo-intellectual drivel?

The convenience foods would be part of the hazards. Anybody who was lazy enough to want the convenience foods rather than fixing his own also had better be energetic enough to exercise.
Because if he was too lazy to exercise and too lazy to fix his own food, then he didn't deserve to live very long. This was all presented as sort of a moral judgement about people and what they should do with their energies. People who are smart, who would learn about nutrition, and who are disciplined enough to eat right and exercise right are better people - and the kind you want to live longer."

According to the bmi chart, most jacked football players are obese. Muscle weighs more than fat. Oh and people carry weight differently too. Some girls with potbellies are considered healthy weight according to this chart, yet some other girls with nice butts and flat stomachs are considered overweight according to the chart, which is silly because weight on the stomach is less healthy.

BMI does a poor job factoring in fitness and muscle mass. It goes purely off of quantitative factors (weight) and has no qualitative factors (muscle etc)

A good doctor will get your weight and height (and thus your BMI) but also measure your waist and ideally measure your body fat percentage

The military at least has the sense to do waist/neck measurements. I knew a guy in the Marines (well he was a Navy Corpsman but he was attached to an infantry unit) built like a brick shithouse, just all barrel chested as fuck and strong, he had the best PFT in the platoon but every time they'd have to break out the tapes because he was "overweight", he had a fairly narrow waist (I think 34, maybe 36 inches) but a really thick neck and chest and all upper body. He'd have been kicked out if they'd just gone by BMI but I gotta say, who do you want fireman carrying you out of a battle when you're wounded, a scrawny lanklet or some guy built like a Gorilla?
