What did Usenet mean by this?
What did Usenet mean by this?
who is William P. Whitney and why should I care about his literally who opinion?
*never mind
I just noticed the date.
So how much votes did he receive?
Brett seems based but sadly he didn't know the way the swamp works.
Third Temple when?
>craiglist politics > Usenet
Interesting
Brett Kottmann predicted this.
President Trump ran for the Reform Partybin 2000 (same party as Perot).
Hard to believe but I just learned randomly yesterday lol. So this isnt at all weird. The weird thing is the red hat games and Trump Tycoon, Barron Trumps Underground Adventure (I read and it was okay), etc
Or he considered running, meaning this based Brett guy wouldve seen news srticles/etc sbout it
Why was Usenet so based?
based af
Holy shit, /v/ before Jow Forums even existed. I hope more stuff is dug up.
Simpler times
That's a funny post because the n64 fucking sucks and has a library of good games 1/4th the size of the playstation.
Usenet was a lot like Jow Forums. Basically anonymous, and you could be completely anonymous if you wanted to. No moderation at all on most groups, except your personal killfile to block people. No images except in binaries groups, and you had to go to some trouble to decode them, so that left most groups text-only with a high signal-to-noise ratio.
Trump ran under the reform party ticket in 2000, genius. He felt things out several times.
TRUMP HAS BEEN CHOSEN BY GOD
DONT YOU GET IT? HE IS KALKI. HE IS THE MESSIAH.
Schizo and Boomerpilled
Ah yes, the very first sonygger post.
>Hillary is headed for prison
>1/27/1996
it's all so tiresome.

>Eternal September or the September that never ended[1] is Usenet slang for a period beginning in September 1993,[2][3] the month that Internet service provider America Online (AOL) began offering Usenet access to its many users, overwhelming the existing culture for online forums.
>Before then, Usenet was largely restricted to colleges and universities. Every September, a large number of incoming freshmen would acquire access to Usenet for the first time, taking time to become accustomed to Usenet's standards of conduct and "netiquette". After a month or so, these new users would either learn to comply with the networks' social norms or tire of using the service.
>Whereas the regular September freshman influx would quickly settle down, the influx of new users from AOL did not end and Usenet's existing culture did not have the capacity to integrate the sheer number of new users.[4][5] The influx was exacerbated by the aggressive direct mailing campaign by AOL Chief Marketing Officer Jan Brandt, which most notably involved distributing millions of floppy disks and CD-ROMs with free trials of AOL.[6]
>Since then the popularity of the Internet has brought on a constant stream of new users. Hence, from the point of view of the early Usenet, the influx of new users in September 1993 never ended.
>Dave Fischer appears to have coined the term in a January 1994 post to alt.folklore.computers: "It's moot now. September 1993 will go down in net history as the September that never ended."[7]

Google has an archive of usenet posts going back to 1981, there's a lot of history here
Go find something good
groups.google.com
To search by date, frame posts like this
>"video game term" after:1981/01/01 before:2000/11/16
(For example " "video game" after:1981/01/01 before:2000/11/16" or " "Zelda" after:1981/01/01 before:2000/11/16")
Do this but for political terms
Now this is shitposting
AOL users were the boomers of the day. They would copy an entire post and add "me too" at the bottom. But they'd look like geniuses compared to today's social media crowd.
Well that's depressing
This is how every forum was back in the 90's before niggers and women learned how to use the internet. Golden age I tells ya.
Well the red heifer was born so... probably the end of the world.
But w/e. We will just have to see what happens.
Will be blasting its the end of the world as we know it by REM
trump talked about running back then you retard
And he ran in 2000, probably as sort of a trial run, looking back at it now. And people had been asking him about running since the 80s.
The Internet was 99% educated white men back then.
...
Kind of like Jow Forums was back in 2016. Ah the good old days.
And not "educated" in queer theory either. Educated in making things work. It was overwhelmingly white guys who liked computers and were smart enough to get a modem to connect, which wasn't always easy.
Donald Trump is the Jewish Messiah
That's good for the jews but bad for the real Christians and mudslimes
Personally I don't give a damn other than the fact ww3 is looming. Like for real and not in a paranoid schizo way.
lol
