This fish can unlock such potential along the great rivers of the midwest, the entire asian market is overfishing their own waters and this species not only is over abundant, but is crowding out the native fish and making them go extinct. We need to get the bighead and the silver asian carp processed efficiently for our foreign and even domestic markets. It's a fish that has a lot of meat on it and it is truly delicious fresh. Our river towns could thrive again and we can even make the effort to clean the river ways to bring more tourism and more money to the depressed towns along the river and even inland as the midwest doesn't eat as much fish as the coasts. This could also help hungry families if they found out the fish literally jump in your boat

It's a fish that eats plankton and other greens, one of the cleanest fish we actually have available to us. They are not bottom feeders and they have less heavy metals than salmon, tuna and other high yield fish. They are not predators which make them perfect and safe to eat.

Chicago has already spent millions on a wall to keep them out of Lake Michigan but it will not be enough and they need more money for a specialized uv light filter to kill the eggs as well as the adults before they enter Lake Michigan. We have a fishery that won't buy anything from private fisherman. They commercially fish these faggot carp, and harvest the eggs to sell to kikes on the east coast, cause its "kosher". They seriously are worthless to a private individual.

I think small boats making lots of noise will be better at catching the larger bighead fish, while big ships might have better luck catching the other 3 types of asian carp. The goal should be to keep the fish alive until they reach a processing plant, then kill, gut, and filet the fish as desired so that the meat stays fresh and white, if they are killed and then waiting to be processed hours later the meat turns grey and bland.

That specific fishery can do what it wants, there are plenty of fisheries that do accept what private fishermen bring in so long as the fish is alive when brought in. Paducah, KY and Wickliffe, KY are 2 good examples of it. And I personally deal with them since I live in the area.

I work at a steel mill and there are hundreds of carp that hang out near the hot water being dumped into the Rouge River. They only hang out there in the winter, and I can tell you it's quite a sight. If you ever saw it, you'd be amazed. They just sit there all winter long in the same spot.
