It's pretty obvious that East Asians have a genetic predisposition for less emotional fluctuation. This is what has shaped their mythologies, ways of life, and skills.
They have a distinctly lower level of sympathy and empathy. That's not bad at all mind you. It allows them to avoid shit that preys on the vulnerability of empathy.

Just like how putting your foot on the accelerator, or slamming the brakes doesn't start or stop a car instantaneously, changing policy doesn't change the state of a society instantaneously. If we made a dog the supreme leader of the entire planet, the result wouldn't be instantaneous collapse, but collapse over time. If we made murder illegal, the result wouldn't be instantaneous bloodbath, but descent over time. If a feudal society were to implement late 19th century ideas, the result would not be an immediate transformation from serfdom to a modern society, but progress over time. If a futuristic sci-fi society implemented Africa-tier policy, the result would not be instantaneous reversion to niggerdom, but a gradual decay over time. There is always inertia in politics, and current policy is the political equivalent of "acceleration". It dictates how things will change going forward, not where things are in the present.
The point is that although serfs had it shit, the rate and direction in which things were progressing was much better then than what we have today, even if the starting point was shitter. If modern ideas were implemented back then, we would have likely never survived to see the modern world. Political ideas are to be judged not on the present state of a society, but on the trajectory of that society over time, under those policies.
