I thought this was going to be some worldwide study across nations. I think the phrasing should be for specific to say kids within a locality tend to have similar IQ scores with each other.

So first of all the author says he is not considering Hispanic people mixed race which is nonsense. Hispanics are the largest mixed race group, by far. Second they cite the NAEP which I have literally never heard of. Third, the NAEP does not appear to give the kind of data you would need to make the conclusion he's making. All of this just looks like a propaganda piece not any actual serious study.

Also I'll add one more thing. It's not like all groups of whites have the same IQ. It's well known that poor whites in the south have a lower average IQ than whites in the north. This is comparing mixed race with whites in the same area. Any whites in an area with a substantial mixed race population are pretty much the bottom of the barrel.

What kind of an idiot would you have to be to take this seriously? This study only includes non Hispanic mixed race people. That's what maybe 1 million total? If you cut half out for being adults you're down to 500k. In any specific grade there are probably about 40k. This study covers a tiny fraction of the country so there were probably only like 30-40 People studied. It's also entirely possible most of them were white Asian mixes which are both high IQ groups.

The Heritability of IQ(as a proxy for g) is very low in childhood, IQ itself is very fluid during that time and can be artificially inflated or lowered.
However, once children reach the age of 25, the variance in IQ scores attributable to heritability goes up to .76(on aggregate).
What this means is that there's no meaningful gap in childhood until about high school which is when we see performance gaps develop along racial average lines.
