Is it damaging to raise my kids on anime instead of regular western cartoons? I feel like they won’t have much to talk about with their peers in school who all watch shit on cartoon network and disney channel. I also worry that they will turn into straight weirdos. I’ve never seen ed edd n eddy fans behave the same way as umaru fans

no, new western cartoons are for braindead retards

better than japanese shit which is for pedophiles (excluding steven universe which is also for pedos).

op, pretty much all japanese cartoons contain pedophilia or are made by people who approve of it. unless it's ghibli.

They're going to be weird because they have a parent who thinks they should watch anime. Normal parents don't think that and therefore produce normal children. The anime is just a symptom.

better yet, don't let any type of cartoons become an integral part of their life

My mum raised me on cartoons from the late 30s.

Lol weeb detected
Yea I think I will do this. Too much cartoon is never good.
Yes, but some can be pretty based like dragon ball and one piece. Will only show them mainstream shounen shit to train their english (we are non-english speaking)

dragon ball still has stuff like this (both these characters are underage).

if your kid shows this to other kids they may get labeled a weirdo and other parents could get angry at you. depends on what your culture is like. you could always use old classic disney films to train their english.

You need to be pretty twisted to think there's anything wrong with that scene

Man wtf is wrong with japs, if i remember one piece also has fucked up scenes like that. I will show them when they are pre-teens then, and, as you said, show them some disney cartoons instead

>(both these characters are underage)

So what's the the problem? Plus this was one of a handful of "naughty" scenes from the original Dragon ball from 30+ years ago. DBZ and Dragon Ball Super are nothing like that.

>Too much cartoon is never good.
No, the problem isn't cartoons, it's fiction in general.
You have to raise your kids, you can't let any media; books, movies, TV, youtube, any of it raise them.

Just make sure that your kids are socialized so they're not one of those weirdos who learns how to act from anime/tv. Both are bad, considering that anime is foreign it's worse.

>So what's the the problem?

t. pedo. if you live in america and can't see how teachers/parents could get angry at you if your kid brings a cartoon to school where one kid inspects another kids genitalia youre too far into weebshit.

>He thinks Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super are the same show

You could still show them Ghibli films, I don't remember anything sexual in those.

They are boring af though. I only liked the one with the white dragon. Man why do japsnhave to ruin anime with sexual humour? Boku no hero and one piece would be perfect shows for kids too

But i guess they have to make money. Kid’s parents won’t spend half of their paychecks on figurines like otakus and weebs would

Try Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

I liked it, but I don’t think 6-8 year olds should watch it. The monsters would just scare them

>see scene as a kid
>haha it's funny because she's a girl
>move on
Are americans that fucked in the head to freak out over this?

Do you have tourette's? What do pedos have to do with dragon ball?

> if you live in america

literally everyone in America is upset at everything at all times. When Dragon Ball Z first aired in America parents were absolutely upset at it, but only because they thought it was satanic and would lead to school fights.

>Man why do japsnhave to ruin anime with sexual humour?

I'm fairly sure that like 80% of all Bugs Bunny and Road Runner cartoons had sexual jokes in them as well.

Obvious if OP's kid is a tiny little child, it's best to only have them cartoons for tiny little children like Disney bullshit and whatever else.

If you restrict what they can and can't watch due to arbitrary values, they will lose out on proper socialization and identification with their peers. If it's popular and age appropriate, it's a wise idea not to restrict your kid(s) from experiencing their generation.

Am not. But if they are going to watch anime it would have to be through services like netflix since they show no anime where i’m from, unless its pokemon. So actually they won’t lose out on anything

that's because bugs bunny was made for adults. "The Warner cartoons were aimed strictly for adults--they were never meant for children." quote by son of Robert McKimson.

You obviously know nothing about taking care of children and child-rearing. When you have a child, your job is to foster their development and growth. Kids will do it on their own by asking constant "why" questions and trying new things, but you should do the same. Instead of putting on a show for them without giving them a choice (reinforces dependency and lack of autonomy), you should select several choices you already approve of and ask your child what they want to watch, which makes the process more enriching. If they want to watch nothing you've picked out and have their own idea, you ask why. This is less for you and more for them to learn how to communicate what they want effectively and appropriately.

In other words, stop being weird and pushing your own ideas (anime only, no anime at all) onto your child. Instead, guide your child and teach them life skills with every interaction. This is proper parenting 101.

Similarly, Dragon Ball is a genre called "shonen" which loosely means young male teen in Japanese which is their target audience. It's not meant for like 6 year olds or whatever - but they can still handle it it's not like they're watching a Rated R movie.

Man this is it. Thanks

You should probably just let the kids watch what they like..

No problem man. I have a lot of experience interacting with kids and loved it. Babies are a goddamn nuisance, though. They don't actually become human till about four.

Western cartoons are almost all unbelievably cucked--newer Jap stuff has elements of it as well (and it's always had degeneracy in one form or another). Also beware, that a lot of the newest anime has bastardized translation, where the character lines in English are nothing like the originals in Japanese, and pretty much always for the worst.

Also keep your kids as far away as possible from the toothbrush scene.

>When Dragon Ball Z first aired in America parents were absolutely upset at it, but only because they thought it was satanic and would lead to school fights.
You have to understand that DBZ is most popular among a certain segment of the population, about 13% of it, which has myriad other issues.
