We should take care of the environment, but we shouldn't be so autistic about it we stunt our technological progress.

Boycott plastic as much as practically possible. Western civilisation has been built on petrochemical trash in the last 100 years. It's an industrial product, not a consumer product. End the oil economy.

1. Don't cook with it or eat out of it. Use metal utensils on wooden surfaces
2. Don't wear it. Replace polyester, nylon, and rayon with cotton, wool, linen, leather, bamboo, hemp, and cashmere
3. Don't decorate your home with it
4. Don't give it as gifts

Sometimes this isn't 100% possible, but you should be conscious of minimising plastic in your life.

Also, when you visit a beach or park, always do a quick tidy up of any litter you see. Try to leave every area in your country better than you found it. Some people just don't care. You should.

We should use it for defense and medicine, but when it comes to nature, nature should come first. Also, the average person's worrying addiction to technology should be stopped by limiting its use for the general public.
