I live in Miami but I fucking love key west. It’s the coziest place on earth. So many good feels down there.

The islands are like 95%+ white. We get the occasional roving pack of Cubans during mini lobster season, but they're transitory

Become a PA... recession-proof six figure job anywhere in the country. Two midlevel providers can live quite well in the Keys.

I was in Key West over spring break.
Not a bad place. My few complaints:
Every trash can smelled like vomit.
Things were kind of expensive.
Traffic was bad most of the time.
Boomers everywhere.

actually Marco Island and Naples are a 3 hour ferry ride away as well. plus the ferry doesn't involve an annoyingly long drive down an often backed up highway with no off ramps.

vibrancy doesn’t travel in florida, so miami isn’t really a threat. if there was a major incident - northern counties would be flooded, not the keys.
