If he is actually autistic then be direct and tell him you want to date. I know an actual high functioning autistic guy. When asked about relationships he said that he WOULD NOT do things he didn't want to and would rather not have a relationship than have to do them so don't expect any form of compromise on his behalf. Of course that is only one example and your guy may not be like that.
