No. People change their names all the time.

Just be you. Fuck the haters.

>Just be you
>Disguise your heritage
Something seems quite off here

Names are all fake, made up by one of your dumb ancestors centuries ago. Be who you are :)

Not really. Do you know anyone who's been married and changed their last name to their spouse's last name? Are they denying or disguising their heritage by doing so? No.

It's just about doing what you want and being WHO you want to be. So what if your bloodline came from a certain geographic or religious background? Are you them? Does the name have meaning to you or give you pride because of it?

If not - change it. Nobody's holding a gun to your head demanding you keep a family name, so fucking change it if you want to.

Be who YOU want to be. Not what your family expect you to conform to.

75-85% of my entire heritage is german and french-irish going back to the settlers, and my real last name (the vast majority of my family's family name) is french. By changing my name, would i not actually be exposing my heritage, and by keeping this shitty name, disguising it?

Tying yourself inextricably to a culture you don't identify with just because it's your "heritage" is not "being yourself"

change your first name, use your arab name as a middle name so your mom doesn't get upset

/thread

i'm op this is my second question, if anyone can answer it specially the hidden heritage guy that'd be great also this: if a black african person is 1/4 white, does it make sense for him to call himself white or say he has white heritage?

white heritage yes, but to say he's a white person? Not really.

I knew a guy who's mother was East African but he himself didn't look African at all, could pass for Spanish. He'd tell people how he loves being black and they'd give him weird lol, and he was 1/2 black.

I assume if the black african in question does not look white it would be just as weird, if not even weirder considering he's only quarter white

*they'd give him weird looks lol

right, now imagine if his mother wasn't east african, the only east african person in his family was his paternal grandfather, but that paternal grandfather was actually white in appearance himself, but he still had a weird ass african name for some reason and was technically born in east africa, but obviously he has nothing to do with east africa at all, would it make sense for him to keep his dumbass african name or say he has anything to do with africa at all? from my perspective, it's like saying you're native american because your whatever grand parent was part native american, even though the native american grandparent themselves were white in appearance

Man if you hate your name so much just change it.

I would just see it as a part of myself and wherever my family came from, however long ago that be. I'd feel like changing it would imply I'm ashamed of it. There's a big difference between having a surname from Africa and you yelling out to the world that you're a black African despite being basically white with hardly anyone in your family being from Africa. But in the end that's my opinion. What would you change your name to given the choice?

Ok that's fine but would you feel comfortable walking around and parading yourself as having been from africa despite literally having almost no relations to it whatsoever except for a single dead person lmao? Wouldn't you feel a bit pretentious and ashamed because of your pretensiousness telling people oh yeah i'm african despite literally having nothing to do with africa? Yeah i'm ashamed of it but that's a personal political opinion of mine, the main reason why i don't like it is beceause it attaches me to this death cult and culture i have nothing to do with and tricks people into assuming i'm something i'm not

i'd change my last name to the french irish side of my family and first name to my nickname / assumed name. The bulk of my family is german and has a german last name, but i don't want to honor that part of the family because they're massive assholes and my biological mom fucked me up big time; but there is my french irish side which is somewhat honorable at least by my grandmother

Hello Mohammed.
You can call yourself whatever you want or get a cool nick name. Nicknames are earned though. Find something close to your name and call yourself a variant of that

Just join ISIS already Achmed. You know you want to.

Is it by any chance abdul? Your name is the least of your problems

already have a nickname it's pretty close to my first name
i'd pass literally nobody except for 1 person in the family is muslim my guy and he's 6 feet under and 72 virgins up. Actually i think they just throw the fucking bodies in a pile of a bunch of other bodies in a massive hole it's fucked up
no it's an extremely rare name i've literally never seen anyone ever have it anywhere in real life even in the middle east or any other muslim country for that matter. I've only ever heard of 2 people in my lifetime who knew someone who had the name and they both died. I can't find a legitimate source for the meaning of the name and have never seen any mention of it in anywhere in translated versions of the quran but apparently it's supposed to be islamic

Nigga if it's so fucking rare I doubt people even realise or care about your muslim name. You make it seem like everyday is a struggle of being judged for what you are not but I don't think anyone gives a shit about your name

yeah pretty much everytime i meet new people they assume i'm fucking muslim or arab isn't that like obvious lmao. My name is obviously not judao-christian in nature and therefore ethnic
