As for this claim to white identity. Georgians do have their own origin haplogroup G, and have a claim to being an indigenous ethnic group. However, the majority of the population has large percentages of J2 Y-DNA making the more genetically similar to Armenians, Azerbaijani, and Turks, as well as large portions of north west Iran.
