No inner voice

Reading is blackpilling & we're just trying to pass the time while we die out bruh. No point in gaining knowledge when boomers will use badge niggers to have you thrown in a cage for trying to change the status quo.
Just fuck bitches, make money & put on jewtube.

Almost any beta male start his sentence with "I love reading, playing music and workout" whenever they are asked what they're interests are, but most probably never even opened a book, if that survey is correct i bet all of them take about 3/4 of the 2/3 that haven't read a book

Because books are an archaic, not easily adaptable medium? People need to stop pretending that reading books is some inherently intellectual activity when things like Twilight exist and have existed for hundreds of years.

men are visual creatures. reading and using the imagination is for the females.

I enjoy reading but fast paced work schedule, and social activities after work / having a wife make it difficult to find time. I do loan my books out to friends, and try to skim through new interesting ones occasionally. But I haven’t read an entire book since I lived in an apartment a couple years ago.

I don’t like to read 15 min before bed every night, I enjoy reading for multiple hours alone - so that’s why it’s hard now

t. brainlet

>beta male
>says the person from a race who prizes literacy & controls the world
Nice.

"Read Read Read Read Read!!" - Werner Herzog

Well, most new modern books are written for 40 something cat ladies. I literally gave up on my book idea a, because I know that no one will read it nowadays, since it is not erotic ficition romance. I will try to put the core idea into a 2D action rpg game now, just to get it out of the system.

Show me the racial breakdown of this study.

>tfw I've been ignoring my reading lately

Attached: 1537146962626.png (400x388, 217K)

2bh, that doesn’t sound very beta to me.

Also I believe it. It’s up there with the stat that most men age 20-35 can’t do a single pull-up.

I've read the internet since 1998 nigger

Because I can read books on my phone whenever

reading's for fags.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a battletech book for someone who is new to the universe except for mechwarrior games??? I just finished the Thrawn series and want to keep it scifi

The betas who read enjoy fiction, more specifically Harry Potter type stuff. Reading isn't inherently good or bad what matters is what you read

I'm busy reading more important shit

>People need to stop pretending that reading books is some inherently intellectual activity when things like Twilight exist and have existed for hundreds of years.
news.emory.edu/stories/2013/12/esc_novels_change_brain/campus.html

Even reading trash like Twilight is better for your brain than watching the movie equivalent.

>the novel
First of all, no trust in those sources.
Secondly, for the sake of argument, women gobbling down trite litterature like 50 Nuances or some 'crime novel' probably make up 90% of the book readers.
I will wager that men are the primary consumers of non-fiction litterature, ex. math, physics, etc. for which film adapations are not made (nor needed).

i had a crazy imagination as a teen boy and probably had way more fun than you ever had loser. imaginations arent strictly a girl thing. girls tend to be retarded. remember?

Probably due to 80IQ sports niggers like these, but then again dumb people have always been around, but at least they made an effort in the past

That's true, I generally cannot stand reading fiction unless it's some sort of allegory to something & even then that's limited to older books.

Only fags and nerds read

What makes reading text in books so special vs. reading shitposts on the internet? It's all English.

This. I dont read at all I just sit back and enjoy my inner voice reading to me.

This. It's like saying the "highly educated" when that can either mean chemical engineering degrees or feminist dance therapy degrees.

books are obsolete

I recently rediscovered my love of reading, sorry it's only the horus heresy

>telegraph.co.uk/men/thinking-man/11444510/Have-men-fallen-out-of-love-with-books.html

I used to love reading. I used to be a voracious reader. I had a book. Maybe it wasn't the one I wanted or whatever but I read all the fucking time.

I started realizing all the info in the books I was reading was already elsewhere. I was mostly reading for the experience. Not wisdom or knowledge but because the book was entertaining and maybe taught me something abstract.

Now its fucking boring. I need very specific writers or I get bored. Too many people write with the same bullshit tropes. I have seen a large number of books but quality books are hard to find. I will have to say I picked through Jow Forumss reading and I would say that many of the required readings are very good. I just don't want to do this anymore. I honestly can't focus and get into it like I used too and it feels much like a waste of time.

All that says is that it changes your brain.

What is non-fiction?

What a coincidence! Hollywood prefers to make film adaptations of books than write original stories!

Attached: 31123857237.jpg (225x225, 8K)

Literature is specifically beneficial for the brain in ways that nonfiction doesn't replicate. The act of following and imagining a narrative has effects on mirror neurons, cross-hemisphere connections and white matter mass.
esciencecommons.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-novel-look-at-how-stories-may-change.html

i read enough when i am online, whats the difference?

I've stopped reading most printed literature, especially fictional literature, because of the ideas being espoused (inter-racial relationships, gay propaganda, etc...).
The only literature I read now are transit timetables. Not only is it nearly impossible to propagandize to the same extent as fictional media, since all calculations are based upon geography and mathematics, but I happen to find things such as peak vehicle requirement and finding odd routings and/or trips interesting.

Uuuuh and they noticed that now? Lol

People writing nooks will put more effort in to create better and more elaborate sentences, with more meaning. People on shitposts say nigger or baka. I wonder what he difference is, nigger

I wonder if lore heavy video games has the same effect, those tend to have encyclopedias & require a lot of filling in the blanks.

forgot about that word filter. s m h fucking gookmoot

Something that I’ve found with dudes that have told me that they don’t like reading as an adult, two of them have mentioned that their parents used to make them go to their room and read as punishment. But, that’s pretty common so I’m just speculating.

Do audiobooks count? You still have to use your imagination to visualize it.

>better and more elaborate sentences
What good are those? The president speaks at the 5th grade level, look how far he got.

I think your numbers are too optimistic. At least they are in the states. Like I know people who have literally never read a book cover to cover who have managed to get 4 year degrees.

>Why don't people read books?
Because competition in media. To be blunt, books are fucking garbage distraction versus effort.

Like TV is usually king distraction for effort. Pretty much no effort, and moderate distraction. Film is slightly more effort, and more distraction, etc. I made a chart to demonstrate.

Point is, to actually get someone to sit down and read a book when there is much easier, more distracting media to absorb is very difficult. I only manage to read books because I make a habit of reading a few pages everyday.

>tfw it takes like half a year to read a 700 page book if it's not particularly interesting

Attached: on entertainment.png (886x720, 13K)

Yes and the fact that you like boys now is just a coincidence, right?

>buy my book

>all these posts by brainlets boasting of their disdain for literature and their pride at not reading the great works of fiction that Western Civlization has produced

This board has become trash. Read a book you niggers.

I believe the way our education system forces us to read is the main problem here. We're forced to read books we don't like and then we must use the teacher's thoughts as a mold for our understanding of the book. Whatever teacher says becomes law. It totally ruins the personal relationship you're supposed to have with a book.

weren't we talking about writing, not speaking? When he composes a speech he doesn't do it at a 5th grade level, go watch the "false song of globalism" speech. Anyway, for intelligent books, yes, they will only be useful for intelligent people. Should we not do intelligent things because most people are stupid? No, unless you want to be dumb too.

Books that get film adaptations are all superman wowow autism that aren't worth reading. Humanity will be reading The Prince and Meditations till the end of time but who can be fucked reading Stephen King novels or the Halo: The Book as an adult?

Audiobooks are very cool while doing simple work. Would say better than nothing.

I just cannot sit and read the bible. Am i a pleb for lisnen to it in audio book form? Is it the content of the book or the act of reading that is important?

Audiobooks are kino.

>The president speaks at the 5th grade level, look how far he got.
He has to. The rule is speak to your audience. He's trying to get those minority and other liberal votes. He has to speak to low IQs and mental illnesses.

>Anyone have a good suggestion for a battletech book for someone who is new to the universe except for mechwarrior games??? I just finished the Thrawn series and want to keep it scifi
Just get any tranny sci-fi book you find since that's the new direction of the series

How many people read The Prince or Meditations?

Currently reading Carl Jung's Alchemical Studies as well as Oswald Spengler's The Decline of the West.

Read a fucking book you philistines.

future cotton pickers.

>What makes reading text in books so special vs. reading shitposts on the internet? It's all English
It's not about reading, it's how you force your brain to interpret the information. The level of information contained in shitposts is exactly shit

The bible is mostly filled with garbage filler, and even the technically good stuff (ask and ye shall receive) is just language designed to subvert and brainwash.

I haven't watched a movie or TV since 2010, Instead my reading increased exponentially. We are not all simpletons or defeatists you know.

Attached: look_at_him_and_laugh.jpg (500x371, 120K)

Books are for faggots and retrds. Imagine other men telling you what to think.

Both dummy. The act of reading requires focus, contemplation, and imagination. You retain information you've read more than something you've heard because reading is a much more involved and engaging process.

>Is it the content of the book or the act of reading that is important?
It's the processing you while read or write. If you actually remember the content a month later then it's beneficial. If you don't then it has no merit, even if it's in book form

I don’t have time to read.
However, audiobooks... are awesome

average book read = 2 days to 2 months
average movie/media view = 0.5-2 hours
who is really taking in more knowledge slick? books are great, but humans are a visual mammal..

Why read a book when I can read books worth of shitposts here?

Attached: 1547622187160m.jpg (1024x1004, 115K)

I read alot of books. They're all LNs though...

Nah man you do you w/ the bible.

Reading The Crying of Lot 49 right now.

What are you guys reading?

Attached: B_bYofhWQAEbqyY.jpg (640x433, 35K)

Because of literature today. None appeals to males. Visit any bookshop and you'll see it's all fluffy romantic crap or some love-horror erotica. Literature is dead.

STOP BEING NIGGERS
Read a fucking book fags.

Attached: Tiresome.jpg (1024x732, 60K)

That book literally made me dizzy

Books are people telling you what they think. Literature is millennia of the smartest people thinking, if you don't see a benefit to that, you might be the retard here.

Youre not joking

What was it (((SAD PUPPIES)))?

Basically a bunch of (((people))) decided that science fiction was “too male” and organized a coup of the genre.

They awarded exclusively female authors the top honors for years. This meant the market seeking function was essentially destroyed as the “award” was basically a virtue signal.

But what it comes down too was that it became unreadable trash. And I did read divergent and hunger games and twilight.

Star wars had the same thing happen

yet you have time to post on Jow Forums, interesting excuse

I would imagine these "men" are s¤¥BOYS

Incorrect.
Start with The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi.
Then seek out other red pill books.

Reading casually's for nerds

>"I love reading, playing music and workout"
W-what da fuk?
Did the jew just call m-me out?

Odyssey in the Fitzgerald translation

>books are an archaic,
The technology of the codex can out last your binary digital information

Music theory 101

True and not true.

Yes, most men don't read books nowadays. That's nothing new though.

No, movies are not even that popular nowadays. In Finland books have again became more popular than movietheaters and televisions. Most of youngs (less than 40 years old) dont watch television at all. It's social media, internet and videogames.

>most new modern books are written for 40 something cat ladies
German-bro, go to the library before they burn it.

Reading and enjoying serious literature is a skill that takes time and work to develop. It's not a particularly useful skill, it definitely won't make you any money, but it is a skill, and it's one that most people don't entirely realize they lack.

It's not necessarily tied to your intelligence, but intelligent people will have an easier time of delaying gratification and focusing their attention in order to receive an abstract and intangible pleasure. Naturally this ability is becoming increasingly rare in our smartphone ADHD era, men of course being more prone to attention disorders than women

Another issue is that traditional pathways towards developing this skill are totally dominated by prissy schoolmarms i.e. women. You aren't going to understand the pleasure and intricacy of Shakespeare when it's coming through some 107 IQ cat lady who would rather read Harry Potter. You aren't going to understand why Shakespeare is beautiful and entertaining and an example of high culture when he's taught through Baz Luhrmann movie adaptions and ironic pop culture references.

Public schools provide no guidance when it comes to literature, you really have to seek it out on your own if you don't want to read affirmative action swill and rape fantasies. Upper-level university courses can be quite good actually, if you can find a professor who isn't a drooling propagandist, but in order to find them you usually have to commit to an English degree by taking the prerequisite classes i.e. you have to waste an enormous amount money and time and work for the opportunity of doing something you can just do for free at your local library. Also literature departments are rapidly transforming into incubators for Jewish cat ladies and sullen minorities, and they use their resources to provide academic warehousing for stupid people.

tl;dr just pick up a classic and read it. Really read it, for entertainment, not for information or because you think it'll make you smarter (it won't)

I get data withdrawal if I don't have a constant book to read. On toilet, at dinner, in bath, on bus, on park bench, 1 minute after done fucking wife, must have a book. Johnny Five always need more inputs.

Attached: oJlN_5QX_400x400.jpg (400x400, 35K)

That's because novels are all for women. Don't forget their porn is in words and so most words became porn for them.

audiobooks and podcasts are where it's at for guys, can't drift off to sleep without them now. I've "read" so many history, rome, philosophy kinos.

You lost me at working out. Not sure how lifting weights and getting fit is beta.

>That's because novels are all for women.
The entire canon is male dude, and we both know you don’t care about contemporary literature anyway.

>You aren't going to understand the pleasure and intricacy of Shakespeare

Citing a meme author. Youre not supposed to read shakespeare. Like Benjir shapiro and his fucking Mozart

Lack of access to audiobooks is a serious problem. It is the new medium when everyone is carrying a computer in their pocket all the time.

Men need cheap access to hugh quality audiobooks.

Its a public good

Reading books requires focus, and a solid attention span. Unfortunately, internet and technology in general have absolutely OBLITERATED attention span of an average person. It's absolutely ridiculously low, it's something like 8 seconds average. And it will only continue to drop more.

When people complain reading is boring it basically means that they're too impatient with what they're reading, their attention span is so low they cannot even hope to process a single book page. This will only result in books becoming shorter and shorter, their content becoming more and more simplified, until all the merit and purpose of literature itself is completely gone.

>8 seconds

Thats because theres enough out there that wasting your time of substandard bullshit is a waste of time.

At the first detection of a inadequacy you turn that shit off.

Thats not “attention span” thats average bullshit detection time.

>I've "read" so many history, rome, philosophy kinos
That's called "listening" smooth-brain. This ASMR that you listen to at night to rock you gently to sleep, it's a mans voice right ? Gay as fuck.

And of course there are some people who are simply too stupid to be helped

I just finished reading Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, and God Emperor of Dune. I was surprised at how good it is and I found it hilarious to learn that lefties think it is a pro leftism series.
Before Dune, I read Unintended Consequences and the Turner Diaries. Is reading Siege a meme? Or is it actually good?
