They seem to value money more than they should, though you wouldn’t know this from the outside. Countless cases of children getting amputations when a simple surgery would have corrected an injury for slightly more money. My dad lives in a menonite rural area in Canada (he's not one). He had to take his daughter out of the local school there, and drive her an hour or something like that to another school, because it was so terrible. As he tells it the menonite kids (which is most of them there) are only in school until they can legally drop out at 13 or whatever, so they have zero interest in learning anything and besides that are viciously violent.
