This is true. I have a friend who was living in his car for a while and was parked in a neighborhood trying to sleep when cops woke him up and demanded to search his car. They pulled everything out until they found his tiny stash of adderall he was using to be able to stay up late at a 24/7 coffee shop and teach himself to code on his laptop. When the charges were filed, it was for possession of methamphetamine.

They can get a job. Certain places wont hire them, you cant force businesses to hire violent criminals. A lot of jobs hire felons. They dont want to work, then thats on them

It's not about them, they are lost and forgotten. What has changed is that we stopped mocking them.

Their failure is there for us to show our kids what happens when you do drugs and commit crime. For the service of being a societal punching bag, I throw some loose change in their cup.

I don't doubt that a good, if not majority of the population of homeless are useless, incapable people who will never make it. At the same time however there will always be at least one person who's in that situation simply because they have no other choice.

They don't have to work for those people if they don't want to. For all it matters, they could work on a farm. Maybe they can work for the state? Maybe they can learn some skills on their own, and try their hand in running their own company? It's not hard if you're willing to put your honest effort and dedicate your life into it.

Funny story. One of my friends I met when he was on the street. Got out of prison, couldn't get a job he worked before due to felony. He started off begging for change, but he got the idea in his head that he can't go home and watch TV anymore, so might as well work.

He bought ba spray bottle and towels from the 99 and used them to clean windows. He did this for 20hrs a day. And he cleaned them WELL. he cleaned them so well I was surprised. I threw him a $5.

After a while, I visitvthis gas station and he's got a nice tent out there. The owner bought it for him. He bought himself him cleaning supplies. Did the whole carwash thing. Stared charging. I asked him what caused all this. He laughed and said "they chased me off for a month and they lost customers","So they turned me into a service".

That fucker turned hobo cleaning into a full fledged business.

This saddens me because it seems he was actually trying to get his shit together. Fuck the lazy homeless who are degenerate druggies though.

The cops did not make you homeless, you inability to pay for bills is likely what made you homeless, the cops just showed up to evict you at the behest of the owner.
