The only Ivy that isn't a complete disaster right now is Cornell, but even then you receive a more rigorous education from a top tier public (UVA, William & Mary, UCLA, Michigan, etc) and the not-Ivies (MIT, Stanford, UChicago, Rice, etc), something that's become increasingly apparent as Ivy grads continue to resemble Mattress Girl more than FDR.

Schools in the Midwest don't think you wouldn't handle the weather, they would think you are an idiot if you're from the south. That is the case for most elite universities nationwide. I know this because when I was there, there was little or no people from the deep south.

UVA is a GREAT SCHOOL, hell I almost went there (but I didn't get the scholarship I wanted). I am talking like a Mississippi or a Alabama, not the civilized south like Virginia or North Carolina.
It's been a while. I didn't have the best relationship with my professors and I am just assuming.

Literally the only schools from the south they respect as a whole are Duke, Vanderbilt, Tulane, and Rice (if you consider Texas southern). They like engineers from Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, and tu and biz kids from UVA and UNC. Outside of that the south is seen as a joke.

The Deep South really is terrible. I was driving through Georgia (on my way to Florida) and Southern Georgia was one of the most depressing places in the world (almost as depressing as some run-down Rust Belt cities like Buffalo or Syracuse)

There's got to be something small every large public university does well, right?. I know Ball State is shit, but try and be an architect or broadcasting major there, and you're in a new set of standards completely, because they focus at being elite at something. Surely they have one or two programs that aren't shit, even in the south. Many buildings on that campus is artwork, a stack of books for the library (attempted artwork, but I digress), a piano for the old music hall, a desk for the architecture building. Is there nothing those schools focus on and are at least decent at?

Having a degree means you can show up, cram a bunch of useless BS and vomit it up on a test. And thats IF you didnt cheat or pay your way through. So many dipshit kids with degrees come to my plant and cant hack it because they A: have never been held accountable for a fucking thing in their lives. And B: think that having a degree entitles them to jack shit.
