At best you'll get a bunch of different puzzle pieces. But you're never quite sure if you've forgotten a piece, or if you put it together quite right. You find yourself getting frustrated and redoing the whole puzzle. Again and again and again.

Literally put your computer out of reach. That's the only really reliable way. If you're working, you can't really totally disconnect, so I recommend only keeping electronics that are a pain in the ass to type on (i.e. smartphones, tablets)
I use a website called Freedom.to, which blocks access to websites for a set length of time. However, it charges a small fee, and I'm sure there are other services that do the same thing, that are free.
I did development in African villages for a couple years, before smartphones boomed there, and it was one of the happier periods of my life. My laptop broke down a few months in, and after that I was a lot more present. Shit, I should honestly do that again, but I'd need a typewriter or something.

Just turn it off. I quit the internet for an entire year, now I just browse the chan a few minutes each day. Try taking up a hobby that takes you outdoors out of cell phone range, like fishing, hiking or hunting. If you are out indawoods all day you won't even miss the internets.
