Women have been calling me sweet recently, and idk what they mean. Am I over thinking this? I’ve never had a girlfriend so I just don’t know
Women have been calling me sweet recently, and idk what they mean. Am I over thinking this...
Depends on the context
It means you give a shit about how they feel, and you're expressing compassion.
Men are generally expected to be die-cast figurines of human beings, so when you do things like compliment people or show consideration for them, you break that mold, and one of the words that contemporary gender-lexicons allow women to use that men will be called gay for doing so is "sweet."
It's basically an asexual compliment, though, so if you think that someone who thinks you're "sweet" is more likely to become your girlfriend, then you're running toward a dead-end.
People are really complicated, and usually go for what's going to hurt them, it seems.
I might be jaded, but I'm old, so forgive me.
Yes, I'm assuming your gender, but I'd be surprised if I was wrong.
>Men are generally expected to be die-cast figurines of human beings
Not that women aren't also.
It's just that their mold includes having a lot of complex and irrational emotions, which - as misogynistic as it is - does at least allow them to have complex and irrational emotions without being considered some kind of gender-traitor.
>complex and irrational emotions
Unless those emotions are angry.
Men are allowed to be as angry as you can imagine, and pretty much nobody cares why they're angry, because "muh testosterone rage."
Women who are too angry get called lesbians.
This is the 21st century.
I think we can do better, but nobody cares what I think.
So... is being called sweet a good or a bad thing? Are they calling me gay for trying to be nice?
The context for one of the times were 2 girls talking about me, and they said and I quote, “wow he’s so sweet”, so idk man
They think you're a beta.
Women have been saying I'm nice, does it mean anything? If I did something nice then that response is what just about anyone would expect, doesn't mean much else unless they follow up with other things they may like about me.
I care user
>is being called sweet a good or a bad thing?
Lol; I mean, if you have to ask, it makes me think that you're only faking being sweet in order to get something else that you want.
I'd say it's a good thing, though, even if you are just being nice because you're hoping that it will get you what you want, because it means that they felt good because of something you did or said, and making other people feel good about themselves is basically the prime directive in terms of social interaction, but then again, I'm not exactly the happiest person in the world, and I'm also really lonely, so you might not want to follow my advice.
It's not exactly like they're calling you gay, but it's not like they're calling you hot, or calling you anything that would improve your chances of having sex with them, though.
The horrible thing I've been forced to conclude is that for most women, sex is not a function of love, respect, or comfort, but a necessary transaction of submission that they only find fulfillment in because of the existential rewards they receive from submitting to the person with the greatest amount of cultural capital who shows the interest in dominating them.
It sounds like a misogynist nightmare, doesn't it?
It is.
But it's the kind of thing where you do experiments over and over, and you test out every hypothesis you have, and they just keep revolving around the same awful thing that you don't want to be true, and after long enough you realize that your best best is to try and understand the the shape of whatever horrible conclusions you're forced to draw instead of further question whether or not they're what you're dealing with.
Einstein didn't want to believe in quantum physics, after all, but it didn't affect the vast and unsettling dice-game that god seems to be playing with the universe.
Just focus on the empathy for others, though, user, and stop hoping that you're gonna score because you're a nice person.
Thank you. I care what you think, too.
That’s a meaningless compliment. Don’t read any more into it.
angry women aren't lesbians. are you 12? they're normal girlfriends. hot girls that abuse better than average looking guys is always a thing around, everywhere. men make jokes only to be slapped or punched and then turning the other cheek. you are completely wrong.
>men make jokes only to be slapped or punched and then turning the other cheek
What the fuck does that mean, user?
Why are you asking me if I'm 12 and then saying shit like that?
Wow this hit me hard.
Me too.
It's like that moment where you keep waking up into the same nightmare until you realize that you've actually woken up, but it's still a nightmare, and you're actually awake, so you just try to cope with it until you might fall asleep and wake up into something that's not a nightmare, but it just hasn't happened yet.
I'm probably just an NPC though, so anything you have to say about why and how it affected you is more likely to matter than anything I'd have to say.
unironically have sex
sweet/nice/any synonym = unfuckable
Do you think she would call Chad sweet?
Unironically fuck me.
That is, unironically have sex with me.
Oh, what's that - you have honesty issues in terms of how much of sex you have constructed as some kind of invasion of a cruel dick that just wants to own you?
That's terrible, because I want to massage you, and literally bring you to the point where you transcend your body entirely.
This whole body thing is a trap, after all.
Nobody owns you, and nobody ever can.
Nobody owns me, and nobody ever can.
Ownership is literally the trap that we've fallen for in the past.
Maybe you haven't felt this for a long time.
I'm willing to go back to when you're willing to accept it, though.
it means you are nice and kind but not the guy they want. So if you arent interested in them then you know they like you as a person and arent afraid of you.
They mean you are a great person to carry their bags.
I'll take "suicidal ideation" for $1000, Alex.
It happens the same when they call you sweet.
You're welcome.
It means you are a low test beta pussy
>Women have been calling me sweet
I'm sorry for saying this but if you have to resort to analyzing this type of crap you're lightyears away from getting an actual girlfriend.
