well. psychiatry hasn't cure a single patient in entire history of psychiatry. "wizard" is another fake word used to denote something that is unexplainable. We have mental health nurses in the British army as well, they're commissioned straight to Captain after a 1 week basic training course which pisses squaddies off to begin with (just have them be civilian contractors instead like they used to instead of some bullshit training and commission)

People aren't going to start going to mental health nurses about issues they're having until it's guaranteed that you aren't going to lose your job (being diagnosed with PTSD/Depression/Anxiety, etc. is an immediate MND (medically non-deployable) and that starts the clock ticking before they give you the boot)

ill give you guys a personal example. i deployed to iraq over a decade ago and on the second day of training before we deployed, an lt decided that we should do some hand to hand combat training. he picked a self proclaimed mma expert e3(pfc) to do the class and left him to it without any other leadership knowing what was taking place. well, the tough guy demonstrating how to guard against a knife attack punches some kid in the nose on accident completely shattering it. 1st army unit(in charge of training and certify your unit as deployable, basically control weather your unit can deploy or not based on unit readiness percentages) caught wind obviously because he ended up being sent off base for surgery. they fucking destroyed that 1st lt that authorized unauthorized training so hard he got booted off the mission and had to have an enlisted escort(sgt) at all times(literal suicide watch). youre not wrong to bring this up, its illegal and its wrong and if im not mistaken even semi religious stuff is illegal just on its own without all the garbage i just typed. shamanism is absolutelty a religious and spiritual deal. you guys should say something, i got your back

i disagree, from my personal experience of 2 decades in the armed forces these things go unoticed because no one recognizes it as illegal(ignorance), but as soon as soneone does and properly articulates themselves theyre all over it because if tgey dont get on it its their ass too. so count on the fact that they want to protect their income in otherwords.

Military Medical doctors are trained to view every complaint as malingering.
