Could I feasibly sell a youtube lifestyle brand that is about being true to yourself and being as transparent as possible? Basically doing the opposite of all current youtubers: Not using ring lights, filters, click-bait titles, click-bait thumbnails, scripting events, creating drama, telling people to like and subscribe, making pointless videos like going to mcdonalds for a muckbang, etc ,etc. It's all so tiresome. I feel like I could succeed because I have motive: I want people to stop emulating these dishonest youtubers. I have reason to believe that they are being brainwashed into thinking that being fake is the way things have to be. And it concerns me because I don't want to live in a world like that. What are your thoughts an opinions? Would society be able to handle the truth?

You could, as long as you use good natural lighting and a good microphone and camera combo. Your idea has potential, go for it user

Don't mislead the poor OP, there isn't a chance in hell of getting popular this way.
It doesn't matter whether people know they are being influenced or not, people cannot help but be influenced by these things. Telling them about it will change nothing, probably just make them insult you, call you jealous, that kind of thing.

>It doesn't matter whether people know they are being influenced or not, people cannot help but be influenced by these things. Telling them about it will change nothing, probably just make them insult you, call you jealous, that kind of thing.
Maybe I can point these things out for them

Can you explain why I am immune to all marketing and influencing? I don't have friends and I am treated like I am the enemy of the people, if that helps you with your explanation.

I wish pointing it out would change anything, hell maybe you would make at least a few people do some reflection. In my experience people really aren't interested in being told the way they think and feel is wrong, even if it is.

Maybe it won't change them but they might watch you, I believe some guy did something similar in France, or pretended to.

Lol until i see your content I'd assume you're just edgy and cliche.

You need some basic production value. You should also find an Avenue for humor at least, or something with entertainment value

Who knows, I'm mostly immune to marketing because my mom was really against it. I remember being younger and wanting toys from commercials, but after I grew up a bit I started to see it as manipulative and greedy. Another reason is I'm just not very interested in many things, so of course I wouldn't be influenced. Maybe those apply to you?

But that's what I don't want, I don't want to attract the quippy crowd. I know thats like 90% of people. But I feel like I can convert people and make them think that not everything they watch has to make them laugh.

SOrry for answering my own question, but I think it's because I'm more interested in immaterial things like love, sacrifice, worth, sin, beauty (genetic), intelligence, strength, wisdom, talent, and conversation.

If you can be a pure beam of enlightenment, I'm sure you could attract at least the moths if not other light beings. Go watch some of the other enlightenment youtubers and jot down notes for improvement.

Just gonna go ahead and pop your bubble, you'd be lucky if you were in the hundreds or even thousands. There's a good chance hundreds of thousands of dudes want to do this and are already doing it.

really like who?

Idk, like David Wilcock, Spirit Sciences, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Ancient Aliens Co./History Channel Co. , Bill Nye, ect.

>Idk, like David Wilcock, Spirit Sciences, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Ancient Aliens Co./History Channel Co. , Bill Nye, ect.

Those are science/paranormal channels. I think the genre in question is "self-help".

>really like who?
I'll let the tripfag get you answers here but do you honestly want me to go prove that with simple searches on YouTube using keywords from your OP, that I can find other startup channels aiming the same way?
You probably want to do this research yourself, though, OP. This is the field YOU want to enter.

the trip answered and she thinks the genre we are talking about is science/paranormal, when in fact it is "self-help". fine ill do the work.

it would have been nice if you referred me to some popular ones though because i don't know who they are.

Connecting self help and science/paranormal is what enlightenment is to this culture. You won't cover all the bases if you avoid the oldest mechanism on earth, Religion.

Also, some self help references are Chicken Soup authors Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, 7cups owner & founder Glen Moriarty, Podcasts like Optimal Living, and some I mentioned above worked on The Secret.

Okay, here's the thing. I don't want to sell whatever "The Secret" is selling because I instinctually know it's not honest. You can't sell a lifestyle. But I can make one popular. And I guess I'd rather have popularity than money.

It's not that simple OP, the problem is people want to fit in social groups and you have all kinds of messages telling people how to do that. In a way you're doing the same thing just using the 'authenticity' brand.

Don't get me wrong I don't follow mainstream sh*t in most cases but it's not easy selling something like that in this day and age with so much information out there.

I'm just letting you know what you're getting into in the self help section. And I'm actually not telling you to be a sellout, but maybe a platform. It's one thing to do just the self help portions without references, but it's another when you have your facts and ducks in a row. And if you listen carefully, The Secret isn't dishonest and it backs itself up. I know most people don't actively listen to that portion because I hear it all the time.
