The fact of the matter is that their ownership frankly helped and contributed as a whole to romanian society(since the people united back) but that's about it.
Not to mention the most important part: the huns forcibly gave you the choice between converting & assimilating or your head, that's why centuries later you have so many romanians that have direct transylvanian roots in zones like western moldavia, who speak "hungarian" (transylvanian dialect) and in censuses they indentify as romanian in 95% percentages, even tho they have roots to virtually the same people who are considered "different" just because they were converted to a different culture at the time.
And while there are genetic studies with very small sample sizes, they still indicate that transylvanians are genetically closer to the average romanian identity.
