Just go in knowing that most recruiters will lie to you, so try to get as much information online as possible. The ASVAB is easy and there's no real way to study for it. The Air Force is notorius for being slow with the recruiting process, so be patient.

I’m in a similar position op, I recently enlisted as a scout in the army for three years. I’ll either love it and go into the green to gold program to become an officer or hate it and get out in a few years stronger, a better leader, and with a damn good resume booster. Good luck to you

None of that shit is true. Tradoc has the ruck at like 8 miles with 30lbs on their back with mandatory breaks and no time limit. No one is training with bayonets in basic and no one is carrying a telephone pole. Basic is weak. It's designed to get as many people through as quickly as possible with below minimum standards and pass them off to their units to experience the harsh realities of the real army

A 5 year service is pretty based if your in your early 20's. Just rack up training in something that converts to civilian life and your set. If you get sent somewhere you'll rack up cash if you actually wanna save.

The other thing I've heard is if you wanna be a doctor or dentist military is def best bang for your buck, they pay for all schooling in exchange for x number of years service. And you get paid a shit ton while your in and your an officer so no basic bitch shit. So free schooling(minimum 100k prob closer to 200k if you were to pay for it) and a salary well into the six figures for how ever many years your locked in for. Also unreal benefits.

Do yourself a favor and do well on placement testing. My friend is in air defense and he says it's boring but safe... don't kill yourself and don't get discouraged when someone you know suicides.

if you are 11b officer, you pretty much stay at ranger school until you pass, depending on how bad your unit needs a PL
