Would you get this stitched up if you didn't have health insurance? Cut it like 2 hours ago, cleaned it and used clotting powder. Dressed it well and it feels okay.

Finger cuts like that usually require stitches to heal properly

You should go to the ER so that they can charge you $18,900.

You can be a man and stitch it yourself

oh shit nigga
tape it together so the two pieces are connecting, keep it clean, and hope for the best.

You need the skin to be as close togeether as possiblee, if its open. so use a bandaind and gauze. if there's still a big gap, get it stitcheed,

use ribbon Band-Aids. If you just let it heal like this it's gonna look terrible once it heals. If the Band-Aids cant hold it then get stitches. go friendo

I'm not a doctor but what I can tell you is that I had a similar, not so deep cut in the same position.

What I can tell you, is that I can't estimate how deep that cut is, and that based on the position the laceration is in, you will be getting an infection unless you close the wound.

There is also no way a numbskull like you could properly wrap and dress that wound, even if you did, you're still going to back, knock, bruise, whatever that wound until it gets infected.

Then you're fucked. Go to a GP you dumbass.

HAHAHAHAH Imagine living in a shithole without free health care.

You should definitely have it stitched, yes. It's a deep cut and you have no guarantee it will heal properly without the stitches.

No. I'd make damn sure to disinfect it and keep it clean though. If that black shit is dirt you should scrub that off. If you're really feeling ballsy you can take some thin fishing line and a sewing needle and patch it up the best you can but honestly it looks like a heavy duty band aid and some gauze would take care of it.

How'd you manage that, just curious?

The black stuff is a blood clotting agent and is sterile. I have actually disinfected and re dressed the wound twice since it happened, it actually seems to be getting better already. I made a splint for it to avoid knocking it on anything and injuring myself further. I dropped a kitchen knife right after I sharpened it, I didn't try to catch it or anything but the way it fell was just really unfortunate. I think the picture makes the cut look worse than it really is.

Fuck you faggot took care of it without your worthless "advice". You're the dumbass for thinking that I am just leaving my wound open. I took this picture between changing my dressings for it.

Honesty those kind of threads make me sad for you AmeriBros.
You really have to fix your country's heath insurance system, you can't be stuck in a dangerous rat race like that forever.

OP, go and see a doctor, whatever the cost.
Your health should be considered above everything else.
Then, go in another country, Northern Europe for example, where live is easy af

urgent care will charge less and fix you up properly. Hit myself with an axe splitting wood and put a sizeable gash in my leg which required stitches, was about 900 bucks. ER would have been thousands upon thousands before they even look at you.

Dude. No. Your finger is going to be fucked for life. go to an urgent care clinic. It's like $200 and you won't get gangrene and have your finger fall off. $200 is 1-2 days of work.

I was with you until
>Northern Europe for example, where live is easy af

I like how all the foreigners ITT are suggesting going to the ER for the tiniest cut on the tip of a finger. Don't get me wrong, I'm economically left leaning and can sympathize with the healthcare argument but have you people never had a scrape of bruise in your life that wasn't fixed by a doctor?

Go to a walkin. Tell them you're broke. Fill in the hospital's financial aid form.

This is something most people seem to be ignorant about.

buy sterile thread and needle and stitch it yourself or use glue

Why ?

Northern europe countries are really the best ones to live in.

Myself, I heal from most injuries that would maim a man for life in a day but still see a doctor if there's even the first sign of infection. If OP's finger is either not properly disinfected or not properly wrapped up, it could get infected and that could lead to him losing it entirely.

If Finns are so happy, why does one in ten commit suicide? What you say and link to is probably true of Scandinavia, but not Finland

>universal access
>trust one another
If this is about Finland, it's not even close to true. It's hard to get an appointment to a doctor and often impossible to get a specialist appointment. For many fields there are no experts. I have a condition that practically ruined my youth and still affects me (thankfully less) but never got a proper diagnosis. There even are "doctors" who aren't real doctors and failed medical school. No one trusts anyone, even doctors don't trust patients and patients don't trust doctors. You're barely going to get any antibiotics or painkillers for anything, and doctors will lie to you about your own medical history. You have to call a healthcare line to get an appointment and the phone advisers are always rude and miss half of what you say. Sometimes appointments for urgent problems will go months to the future, and going to the ER you may be told to come back another day or even lied to and told to not come at all. People even die from that.

It's never free, the costs are generally manageable even for poor people if it's not a problem that persists (but if it is a problem that persists, you may be labelled a hopeless case and they'll stop giving you appointments). Now you can't even go to a different health centre in Helsinki, they all got united into a centralised one. Elsewhere, tons are being shut down so the people have no access to healthcare at all. Medicines are constantly being discontinued, so you may be perscribed something that doesn't even exist anymore.

That said, if it's something minor, you'll get good quality healthcare. Sometimes you get lucky and the doctors are competent and nice. There even are sexy nurses. When I was hospitalised a couple of years back, it actually was overall a pleasant experience. But my mum went through hell with surgeries, she's fine now but they didn't even give her painkillers when they fucking cut her leg open! I could go on but healthcare is not great, it's just "ok".

does it hurt when the would is healing?
t. cut a piece of my thumb

its 1 in 5000-15000 you fucking mong. and what the fuck is with you dumb niggers and thinking suicide rates which absoutely miniscule reflect some srt of overall measure of happiness?

Yes, healing is usually painful. It's fine if the pain gets worse momentarily after you wash it and apply disinfectant and again after you wrap it up, but if it keeps getting worse, you need medical attention. It's also important to keep a look out on the hue of the surrounding skin. Is it getting more red or less red? If it's getting more red, it could be getting infected and that's bad. If it's only temporarily more red after you wash it and apply disinfectant, again, that's fine. However, if it remains just as red or gets more red after it gets air, that's likely a sign of infection. There's a delicate balance to the right amount of exposure and containment, as in for how long you should let it get air and for how long you should keep it wrapped up. That's all dependent on all kinds of different factors, so any estimate is going to be tailored for somebody else, not you. Some say to only apply disinfectant once, others say to apply it once a day, some say to apply it more than once a day. It depends on the amount of disinfectant, your overall health, your diet, the humidity and air temperature, and so many other factors that it's impossible to really tell which except case by case and for that you'll need a medical professional's opinion. Myself, I'd say if it's on the thumb, you may want to wash it every time you wash your hands and apply disinfectant in the morning and before going to bed and to put a bandaid on it when you sleep or when you need to do something with that hand. If it starts healing, you probably won't need to see a doctor. If it doesn't heal, that is even if it doesn't get visibly worse but stays hte same, you probably do need to see one. I'm not a doctor though, and my biology may be very different from yours, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

be an illegal and then tell me we don't have free healthcare here

it just hurts upon touching the crust and surrounding area. no puss so far.

Thanks for the redpill about your country man, I didn't know about that

>he can't into hyperbole
wew

Go to the hospital. You can make payments over time, but if your have nerve damage, that shit's going to forever be fucked up. It's worth the money - go to a doctor and save your poor finger.
