Finnish people are currently heading to the polls to vote for their favorite parliamentary candidates. The election day is this Sunday and pre-poll voting has been more active than ever.
According to most recent polls by Yle and Helsingin Sanomat, SDP (Social Democratic Party) will score the highest percentage which is at 19.6% as of yesterday. The second is Kokoomus (National Coalition) at 17%, Keskusta (Center) at the third spot with 14.7% of the votes and Perussuomalaiset (the Finns Party) with 13.4% of votes.
Today the Finnish Police informed that they are currently investigating SKE (Finnish People First party) for ”incitement of the masses” after SKE advertized two of their candidates under slogans such as ”Matut ulos” (out with the invaders) and ”Homotus kaappiin” (sodomy belongs in the closet).
You’re most welcome to discuss the upcoming Finnish elections. Who would you vote?
SDP - center-leftist party for big government, high taxes, popular in traditional factory towns and among lower middle class Kokoomus - small government, low taxes, outsourcing as much as possible, popular among upper middle class Keskusta - the farmers’ party and the former prime minister party. They’ve taken a huge blow since the last election due to their new policies for the unemployed etc. Perussuomalaiset - right-centrist anti-immigration, anti-EU, anti-NATO party Vihreät - the Green Party for metropolitan hippies. They’re against everything by default. Vasemmistoliitto - the left allince. More leftist than SDP, popular among younger leftist. Their leader Li Andersson is the mene gift that keeps on giving. Kristillisdemokraatit - Christian Democrats. ”Family, Religion and Patria” is their slogan. RKP - Swedish People’s Party. Favorite party of our Swedish-speaking minority. Their somewhat similar to Kokoomus with an additional emphasis on Swedish language rights. Sininen Tulevaisuus - a meme party. Broke off from Perussuomalaiset during the last government coalition after the fascist Jussi Halla-aho became the new leader of Perussuomalaiset.
Some non-parliamentary parties: Feministinen puolue, the Feminist Party SKP - the Communist Party of Finland Kommunistinen työväenpuolue - Communist Workers’ Party Piraattipuolue - Pirate Party SKE - Finnish People First party Liberaalipuolue - Liberal Party
