How do you pick a good name for gaming?
I'm unable to play until I can figure one out.
>it can't be longer than 8 characters
>letters only
>easy to pronounce
>neutral sounding
>no japanese or no meme/"funny" crap
>huge bonus if it somehow connects to a personality trait of mine, but can't figure what that could be

Actually what I mean is it's crippling my life because it's all I'm thinking of. It needs to be perfect because of it costing on average $50 to use name change services on platforms I use.
I've obsessed over this for months with no results.
A good name is the gateway to your entire online identity. And my online identity is the only one I have left.
So... inb4 "just pick whatever", "noone cares" etc
Kunigunde

No longer than 8 char "Lord God"
No limit "The Lord God"
In my head that's just the most grotesque name

You can borrow my name, but only if you fully intend to crush souls and destroy the community from the inside out.
Acoustic

Not sure what I expected, but I could at leadt be taken seriously. It's at minimum as much of a stressful, anxious pain as any thread running on this board right now.
We are being serious!
Just pick something, it really doesn’t matter.
Jellyjammer
Dropthecat
Dirtmouth
Fly17canna
Saltlampglow
Bumpertown
Kittycoral
Pick one of those and call it good.
>it can't be longer than eight characters
>the shortest word there is nine characters long
>mfw

I was in a similar situation about 10 years ago (I tried to register on some forum) and what I did was to simply look at the bookmark bar in the browser and tried to combine names of the bookmarks to see if it would form a potential nickname. Fortunately, it worked, so I only had to polish it a bit and I was done in a total of 10-15 minutes. I also liked it so much that I used it for gaming as well from then on and never changed it.

I used a random word generator, and settled on an obscure city that sounded cool phonetically. I played a lot of csgo at the time, and most european players seemed to mis-pronounce it the same way. I changed it to the mis-pronounciation as a joke, and it stuck. It's so catchy, my friends back home and my brother use it as my nickname.
I usually just look around my desk/room for inspiration. It's why my trip name is "peanut butter" here. There was a jar of peanut butter on my desk when I started tripfagging
Fuck off twink faggot
Go make a list of names you've used elsewhere. Combine them, make anagrams out of it, recombine, etc. until you have something you like. Look up synonyms of words that are meaningful to you or that you like, as well as look up translations in other languages for them. Either use one of those outright, or filter it through the previous strategy and combine with old names you liked as well to help avoid having the username be taken on most platforms you use. This is what I do to figure out my usernames.

One I've used the most is one I made from misspelling the name on a vodka bottle. If you're that bothered about it then just get a list and pick which one is the nicest to look at
