Despite that fact, socialist Jews are significant in Israel. Tel Aviv is the LGBT capital of the world. Israel even has socialist communes (well as close to one whilst being surrounded by capitalism). Yet the country is not leftist. That's because even the "socialist/leftist" Jews don't associate with the international left. When you're surrounded by countries and peoples who hate you and try to kill you, you become ethnocentric and nationalist. It helps that most of them have served in the military.

For example first generation conservative Muslim immigrants in the West vote left wing parties that advocate for LGBT and haram crap because they see conservatives as being anti Muslim and pro Zionist/whatever foreign policy they don't like. So they behave along the line of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".
Jews are different. Right wing Jews like orthodox vote right wing if they vote at all, since they don't feel like conservatives threaten them. But most Jews are typically left leaning at least and they vote centre-left to left parties. Why? It's complicated but it's basically due to parental and societal influence. Jews are taught to feel like victims because of their religion and modern history. Parents are left leaning to begin with and young Jews end up being more likely to become activists and "social reformers".
