Propaganda is critical to push the overton window in a non threatening way, diffuse concern and win support. I love looking at old posters from WW2. I have similar nostalgia for fashwave. Post um.
This one with the girl is good but would be even better if the black sun was faded a bit more. It's impossible to make it "subtle" per se, but if it could feel like it fit the background more naturally, that would be great.
I think a big part of the pushback against fashwave is that for a time people were feeling pressured to accept it, and if they didn't that they couldn't be "alt right". Not everyone likes any particular aesthetic or musical genre so its good to have a broad selection.
that's what happens when you deliberately create something just to spite a community. The 80s/90s technology aesthetic combined with fascist symbolism makes it feel forced because they don't mix well at all aesthetically or ideologically. There are some commonalities between fashwave and vaporwave, like themes of nostalgia and roman statues, but these are superficial.
also this. just like vaporwave (art or music) fashwave is incredibly low effort and repetitive especially with how overused the black sun is in it
Yeah of course. Another element of it is probably that it plays up late 80s/early 90s nostalgia about stuff like VCR effects, which to older people or really young people isn't relatable. I'm not saying its overall a bad genre, just that it doesn't connect all the necessary components of society together.
