Lately, i have been feeling like life has no meaning. When i look at people all i see is them studying, working and then dying not achieving anything.
Humans are egoistic animals, we think everything was made for us. But in my eyes our life isnt worth more then the cats in the streets or the ants walking in the dirt.
Does anyone else feel this way? And if so, how do you cope with the feeling of nothingness?
Just ignore it. Be happy and waste your time not worrying about anything
Mason Nguyen
Who ever said life had meaning?
Brody Davis
I dont think life has meaning. just some times feel like im wasting my time struggling.
Matthew White
Then you probably are just do what makes you happy and find meaning in that
Nathan Adams
>Lately, i have been feeling like life has no meaning
Meaning is subjective, there is nothing truly worth living for by default, it's only when you realize this and that you start to form some kind of meaning
>When i look at people all i see is them studying, working and then dying not achieving anything.
Are they really not achieving anything or are they not achieving what you perceive to be the ultimate goal
>Humans are egoistic animals We are way too complex to be put in one category
>we think everything was made for us. It was our ancestors gave their lives so we can enjoy mcdonalds and freedoms unseen before
>But in my eyes our life isnt worth more then the cats in the streets or the ants walking in the dirt. I don't have an opinion on that statement since I don't know what is your tool for measuring worth
>Does anyone else feel this way? Way too many people, have you heard of Nihilism?
>And if so, how do you cope with the feeling of nothingness? Life will not wait for you to recover, life just goes by, time passes by, and the ultimate redpill is to realize that you can do something productive(according to you) meanwhile

being going through a existential crisis as of late because of the same question. My dreams were dashed cruelly. I've realized that I lived my whole life so far for others, everything about me was fabricated for the approval of others. Now that I've woken up I don't know what to do with myself, I have so many questions and no answers. I feel alone. But I'm letting myself feel the pain because the more intense it gets, and the further I'm forced to explore it. The clearer the path to a meaningful life will become.
Don't shut the pain out OP feel it, be controlled by it. The only way to enlightenment in this world is through pain and suffering
Ian Watson
If enlightenment can only be achieved through pain is it really worth living life at all?
Eli Jackson
> I don't have an opinion on that statement since I don't know what is your tool for measuring worth.
Im sorry i wrote it unclearly. What i meant is that i feel people view their life as higher then the being around them and i cant seem to grasp that concept.
>Life will not wait for you to recover, life just goes by, time passes by, and the ultimate redpill is to realize that you can do something productive(according to you) meanwhile.
I understand that very well, i just feel like im getting washed in the river of life and i have nothing to hold onto. Im trying to make sense of it and it just keeps going.
Liam Morris
if all you felt and were ever going to feel was pain then sure. why not just kill yourself. But there can be far more to life than pain and loneliness. And the longer we ignore and shy away from our pain the longer we deprive ourselves of the revelation of everything we can achieve with the little time we have.
Oliver Bennett
'Nothing to hold on to' is a penetrating insight.
'It just keeps going' is another one.

Keep watching, continue to be aware relentlessly.
Isn't the mind a curious thing? What happens if you make it your 'meaning' to know it.
What else are you doing?

Some people like to recommend books, i will recommend a game instead store.steampowered.com/app/257510/The_Talos_Principle/ It helped me find an answer to very similiar question to yours. Dont underestimate the game and dont spoil it for yourself.
Landon Roberts
Its because life has no meaning that we need to assign it meaning, try new things and meet new people to find some joy. Might as well, it'll be over soon enough anyway, may as well seek out what value we can yknow? Without impeding others of course.
Tyler Scott
You're looking at life too deeply. Its fine to philosophise but its not really going to get you anywhere. Just do things that make you happy. You'll die eventually so just enjoy yourself or atempt to find some meaning yourself like studying a subject or having a family or something. There is really no other point to things. Myself I just like to get drunk and listen to music in my off time. Makes me happy.
Easton Baker
I take a couple of these when I really need to. But ya I’m pretty sure life is meaningless.
i went into a shelter and thought to myself ,just like the animals there live in cages we live in a big cage called the world ,so yea OP is partially right
trying to find my soul and purpose keeps reminding me that everything in this world is predestined, those that say that is false just haven't experienced the things that would cause them to think that way or they are too catch the signs
David Gutierrez
You are blind about yourself, the world and it all. You can't really see it, can't really see anything. Its great that you are trying to find a meaning but you still got a long way to go. You are underage or someone really young minded, like most nihilists.
Grayson King
nothing has meaning until you give it meaning
Chase Jones
Jesus Chris dude, nothing means anything and that’s fucking okay. That means no matter what you’ll do, you’ll eventually get forgotten and washed away in the river of life. Is that not the most liberating thing you’ve ever heard? Yeah, it doesn’t matter in the end if you succeed in life, but it doesn’t matter if you fail, either. You get to live your existence, unchained by fate or destiny, as life passes you. That means there is no universal plan or universal meaning or anything like that; that means that you get to plan and insert meaning into your own life. Because nothing means anything universally, that means meaning means everything to you.
