The picture is impressive because it's an object less than ten times the diameter of Pluto's orbit that literally EATS LIGHT at the center of a galaxy over fifty million light years away and thus over fifty million years in the past. Pic related. The image was assembled from a massive collection of radio telescopes spanning almost the entire planet, from Europe and the US to Antarctica, and involved petabytes of raw data. It gives us visual confirmation of our models of how black holes work and thus is the biggest confirmation of relativity in most of our lifetimes.
For perspective this is like reading a fucking license plate on Pluto from Earth. It's incredibly hardcore radio astronomy.

kinda sorta, the hard part was the earliest invasions (turkey and romania, began war with them as soon as possible). italy's sucky-ass starting military had trouble even against nobody nations like those, but they were well-worth the early effort went after spain next for some free clay because they won't join allies. almost as soon as i finished them off germany kicked off WWII, and all the allies jumped on them at once so i joined in to nab territory and ended up annexing almost all of germany from then on it was just waiting for the soviets to claim poland, have the allies go to war against them and then join comintern, storm france and britain all at once and then slowly take the remaining allied territories (unfortunately by the time i took britain they decolonized and india was considered a major allied power so i had to begin a terribly slow march through iran and pakistan into india, and by the time i took india canada freed itself and assumed control, and so the war went on) after that i just mopped up the remaining states i needed and bam, roma invicta
