Jusitifiable homicide is important and will make the quanitity change. I would hazard a guess that many of the nations with gun crim have a 100% rate of victims dying, rather than the suspect. In a place with legal guns, you might find much of it is the victim defending themselves. In which case, the higher that blue bar, the better.
Also, the points I mentioned that do not change the number certainly recontextualise it, i.e. presence of non-whites. This is importnat to get right as it is a bettter way of dealing with the scourge of homicides.
