In my experience kids who get homeschooled seem to have social issues like other itt have said, seems to give them a touch of the tism when they aren't interacting with peers and making friends. Think about it, as a kid , would you have wanted 95% of your human interaction during your school years to have been with your parents?

My dad did homeschooling for my sister and I for a little while, but he really didn't do shit, we had no homework, no lessons. I mean really it would have been better had I stayed in school simply because he was lazy as fuck and didn't care to actually do anything.

A lot of kids come out really good out of it, better than any kid that comes out of public school. Many kids come out just as bad as public school though. It's entirely dependent on the parents and how much they actually care about their kid's education and future.

I was home schooled, as a result I've been redpilled my entire life. I would strongly recommend it, provided you can actually give them a decent education. Also you have to make sure they have plenty of opportunity to socialise.

I say get rid of compulsory education altogether. Why can't kids just have fun until they turn 18? All they need to know is how to read, write and do basic arithmetic and they'll be just fine. They can pay for classes to prepare them for college/trade school or just get a low skilled job if they want. I knew "education" majors in college, and know several teachers now. With a few exceptions, they are some of the most gullible, conformist, proudly ignorant people I know.

A lot of people talk about homeschoolers and issues with social skills. But keep in mind that the parents who choose homeschooling are generally going to be pretty different from the average population. Either strongly religious, or hippy freethinkers, or just very individualistic. Of course their kids are going to tend to be a little different too.

I'd say homeschooling is only really good if you have a community of parents who are all doing it together - not just one insulated family.

Assuming you're actually making a concerted and genuine effort to educate them, it is by far the best way to raise children. Even if you have to hire private tutors (who work under your supervision) because you yourself lack the knowledge to teach, it is still far superior to sticking them in an ordinary school. The only way in which home schooling go wrong is if you aren't actually making an effort to educate your children. Throwing a book at them is not educating them. Having them do chores is not educating them. I, myself, was home "schooled" in this manner for a couple years and all it did was sabotage me and put me in a hole that took years of sacrifice for me to climb out of. It's the responsibility of the adult to mentor and guide the child. If you're not willing to do that and not willing to find some other adult to do that, then your kid probably would indeed be better off in the utterly abysmal public school system. That's like saying that losing one arm is better than losing both arms though.

My parents are teachers and I know firsthand from both them and their friends how much teachers love to pat themselves on the back about how hard their job is.

If you do go the homeschooling route, just be prepared to have you and/or your spouse go full on headfirst. It’s a ton of work if you do it the right way and don’t just send your kid to some online course. Also it’s highly recommended to join a homeschool group in your area. It helps alleviate the burden a bit, and addresses the “socialization” problem. Getting your kid involved in sports or music is good too.

Wrong. Isolating your kids kills their social skills. Home schooling is not necessarily the same as isolating them. If you're not a moron, you will involve your kid in all kinds of social activities while home schooling them. Put them on baseball teams, bring them to social events with other kids, etc. There are programs for this.

It could be done but it would be a full time job. So if you actually need to earn a living, homeschool is impossible. Aside from the actual teaching, another factor that makes it hard is 99% of other kids are going to school, so there won't be kids around to play with. Other homeschool kids might be weirdos too, so maybe you wouldn't want your children to play with them. A hundred years ago there'd be plenty of kids around for your kids to socialise with during the day, but these days it's difficult. Still, if you are determined, you can organise quite a lot of social activities.

I only send my son to public school for socialisation and teambuilding in sports, since the nearest school is 50% Muslim immigrants from the nearby slum and their kids suck at everything except soccer, so he can make friends and learn to work together with other white kids without interference. Actually going to class would be a waste of time, as in year 3, his immigrant peers have to be re-taught basic addition at the start of every term.
