Having tanned skin as a white can make you look more white. Let me explain: No other ethnic groups are able to "tan" like white Europeans and if they are able to tan, they do not turn the same color. Many white Europeans especially from Nordic and Germanic nations take on a reddish, golden, bronze admixture that is undeniable to the eye. You never see Asians, or Arabs, or Negros with that skin tone.

This. I could never put my finger on it but Whites when tanned clearly have a very unique skin tone unlike what shitskins like Indians, Arabs, Latinos or Asians can ever get.

My theory is it's because White people are "White" because our skin produces the lowest amount of melanin naturally, so the our "undertone" is already reddish pink. When combined with a tan, it looks a unique hue. But non Whites already have a brown undertone (even when they're super light skinned, they still have a very light brown undertone) so when they tan they just accumulate more brown-ness. There is no intermixing of colors on their skin like with Whites (mixing of reddish pink and brown).
