BOOMERS BTFO
BOOMERS BTFO
sounds more like autism
every job i've quit i've never bothered to look back at, even for nefarious purposes.
Eh I fucked off on bosses who were cunts before. Fuck em.
I am not surprised.
90% of the boomers I've worked for or with are cunts.
It's good 50% or so are retiring.
I only give notice if they are decent people.
I guess it's a dick move if you actually like your bosses but otherwise you don't owe them shit, of course you won't get a good reference though
>work at Amazon warehouse
>quit and pay stops immediately
>just stop showing up and they will keep paying you your unused paid time off and vacation pay until it runs out
been ghosting shit jobs since the 90s
das rite
>I only give notice if they are decent people
fucking this
Employers only deserve 2 weeks notice if they treat the employee well. I've fucked off before on some cunt of a boss, waited till they went on vacation so it would be the worst possible time to leave them shorthanded. It felt great desu.
i never understood this two weeks notice bullshit. if an employer didn't want me to work there for whatever reason, they're not giving me two weeks, why do i owe them anything? fuck that shit.
It's so they can arrange your replacement, or otherwise cover for your absence. But yeah, if they're a bunch of shitcunts they can get to fuck.
I did it with my last job. They threaten to sue me, I sent a letter stating they own me money (it was true) and I was contacting the labour inspectorate if they didn't wired me my money at the end of the week. Fuck them.
They can fire you without notice, why am I obligated to give them two weeks notice when I quit?
Lol I've quit every job I've ever had like this.
Like 30+ jobs. I don't know any other way.
One of my employers was nice enough to let me know almost two months in advance that it was looking like they weren't going to have the money to keep paying me. Even got an email later that year about an opportunity opening up somewhere else they thought I'd be a good fit for.
>ghosting has become widespread
This actually works? Here any HR department is so pointlessly lacking a purpose to exist that they check your previous employers to see what they have to say about you. Ghosting feels like CV suicide.
>Employers refuse to give references.
>Even if they give references, if you're a white male, (the majority of the workforce are) it won't help you get another job because muh diversity.
>Employers pay shit wages because there's a thousand niggers lined up out the door waiting to take the job
>And then wonder why white people say fuck it and just ghost them.
>Boomers could fire you with no notice
>We chose not to renew your contract, Mr. user.
>Im expected to make sure they can fill the void i leave before im gone
>they can fire me at a moments notice and fuck my life up
lol no.
only faggot neocon boomers worship their bosses. When the shoe's on the other foot, you better believe its going up your ass.
The trick is you say you were laid off or contracted the measles for the first time at 20 something and couldn't work for 2 months.
There's literally no way to check this without breaking the law so they won't.
If a malicious employee finds out he's getting fired two weeks in advance he could cause a lot of damage begore leaving e.g. deleting everything he has access to. Other way around isn't really an issue. Your company probably isn't going to sabotage your life out of spite because you're leaving in two weeks.
Reminder to reduce one generation from your chronological one if you are a third worlder.
Maybe you are the boomer
In the US most businesses don't say anything bad about you when they get asked by other companies for work histories. The safest thing to do is to just tell the company asking that the employee worked there for whenever they were employed and to leave it at that. Nobody wants to get involved in some complaint that you're sabotaging a gormer employee's job search.
>If a malicious employee finds out he's getting fired two weeks in advance he could cause a lot of damage begore leaving e.g. deleting everything he has access to
He could do that on the way out the door. Doesn't take 2 weeks.
>implying I don't have access even after being terminated
That's just a dumb thing to do, though. It's going to be pretty obvious who did it.
Oh, and getting fired is quite the life sabotage.
boomer here.. we had some young kid do that where I work. We actually feel sorry for the younger kids.. we know they are fucked with their student loans and general fear of everything in life. It will be good to retire in a year and the problems of the young are not my problem.
>be me
>apply to fuckload of jobs
>get word from a few
>most of them end up being misleading (sales coordinator = sales representative = marketing account manager = management trainee and they all are just basic bitch 10 bucks an hour retail sales bullshit)
>others offered even worse wages (did not post wage on the listing)
>one offered its pay entirely through commission, said that I "SHOULD" be making around 27-45k a year, which is such a ridiculous margin of error that anyone would be put off, especially considering it was a fucking DirecTV sales rep position inside of CostCo
>finally get an offer that pays 12 bucks an hour and is related to my field of study (Bachelors of Science in Biology because muh STEM), woman offers a lab tech position that will offer experience in both wet chemistry and microbiology, also said that I will have to do "a bit" of driving in the company vehicle to collect "a few" samples, working four 10 hour days a week
>agree to the job, find out that most of those "10" hours are spent on the road collecting samples from wastewater treatment plants, I drive close to 200 miles a day and then have to run those tests BY MYSELF on the weekends because "college prepared me" and so I received no training
>am literally relying on smelly Indians on YouTube and whatever I can scrounge on Google to run these tests, the place is fucking "paperless" so there are no instruction manuals anywhere, have to use fucking Access to input and output information
>To no surprise, I spent over 13 hours at work the first couple of days teaching myself how to do this job, boss cuts a day off of my schedule so I don't hit overtime
>on the day other people are working there, I tried talking to a woman working there, who tells me that people in my position don't last long, and the last 2 people quit before their second week so she would rather work than get to know somebody that is just going to disappear the next day
Continued
I normally steal a bunch of shit before ghosting out.
Got me a lifetime supply of chainsaws when I was working as an arborist.
Were you under contract? How does employment work in France? In America it's almost entirely "at will", which means either side can fuck off whenever they want to and for almost any reason. The exception is if you're highly skilled and the employer signs you on with a contract.
if they put you on gardening leave. I tried this once but it didnt work, they took me from dealing with clients to driving a van for the month notice the contract required. worked out ok i guess as i quit with nothing to go to, was hoping for 4 weeks holiday but driving the van around the country was pretty cool.
one job i left at lunch time, said i was going for a coffee, took everything with me never went back, threw my sim card away. they were fuckers who had it coming.
HR professional here. Can also confirm. A company can be taken to court for endorsing an employee that sabotages another company, or for sabotaging an employee's potential to be employed. Doing anything besides saying "yeah they worked here" is the wrong decision.
okay. i still don't owe them anything.
fuck you, HR. seriously, you can just get right fucked.
Got some power tools and shit.
When you quit because they ain't paying enough to put up with their hostile bullshit it's your duty to make it right.
how would they even find out? when you get rejected you don't even get an email 80% of the time, let alone "your last job said you were lazy so we didn't hire you"
>everyone there worked with headphones in, never seemed to take breaks, and obviously did not like each other
>now that I think about it, I didn't have time to take any breaks either, since this work is time sensitive and so it makes more sense to just finish up and eat after work
>make it to second weekend, route changes but I was not given updated codes, so I have to try to get attention of people working at the treatment plants to let me in, at one point having to get out of the car and just pushing the gate open myself
>cool, this time it only took 6 and a half hours to finish the drive!
>more samples from the previous day are left there, for tests that I had never heard of, incubators and fridges and water baths loaded with samples that were tested and needed confirmation or just weren't done
>the women left me vague post-it notes about what needed to get done with acronyms that I was not familiar with
>try my best to finish things up, after 12 hours I think I'm done
>get call next day saying I fucked up and now the lab is backed up with tasks that I was unaware were mine (including labeling and organizing in the warehouse??)
>day after I come into work, boss is yelling at me in front of the other workers, who are clearly used to it, saying I'm supposed to be good at this because I actually went to college, that I'm a retard, that I probably faked my degree, that she could do my job in her sleep, etc etc
>I just walked out and never went back, received calls until I blocked their number
Tell me why I should have stuck around. Give me one good reason that this job was worth the trouble.
Quitting without notice doesn't work in any real job like engineering or software development. Employers offering good jobs usually require a background investigation and they will contact the previous employer to verify reasons for departing. Maybe fast food and warehouse employers don't give a shit but any job with career prospects is going to thoroughly vet their prospective employees.
HR Professional is an oxymoron
Same for the opposite, I could get treated like shit if I give 2 weeks notice.
This happened to me this week. Not cool and a very pussy thing to do. Just man up and say I quit
damn dude.. i'm assuming your employer was an asshole or kike?
when you reject an applicant, do you give them advice?
or do you not even send an rejection email. Fuck off you don't deserve shit. A notice is more than you deserve.
You guys either have really shit work culture or just shitty jobs. Here it's human decency to give a 1 month notice. Also mostly mandatory.
Is it really so hard to write a sentence on a paper and sign it and give it to your superior?
so is strong white british man
Why needlessly burn bridges?
Try to follow the rules instead of acting like a child and you won't have trouble with HR.
Finding out anything about why a company does things is a very difficult prospect, so it's rare. However, that's also why courts are extremely unforgiving. They make an example of the ones that get caught doing shit. It's not worth the risk for a company even though they are still unlikely to get caught. It's not like they gain anything out of recommending for or against previous employees anyway.
>professional
LOL
Well, ya know when you don’t give descent raises or promotions and force employees to get a raise by getting another job this is what you get. If you as an employer just want a warm body and not a career minded person then keep up with maximized CEO pay and shit on the rest of the workers. This is what you get. And no I’m not poor.
Maybe if HR wasn't full of useless power tripping bitches and would just get a real job there wouldn't be any problem. The cleaning crew doesn't cause me any trouble. The maintenance guys and other people with a real job to do love me.
I do mostly, but one particularly shitty job I gave them 2 weeks notice, then they immediately gave me the shit list. I didn't want to stay anyway, so they let me quit at the end of the day.
it was a call center, and they can set you up so all the calls you get are ones that have been called 9 times already and its only pissed off people answering the phone.
If you're getting ghosted, it's probably because you deserve it.
Even your ID is mudbrown, mutt shitskin
Cool. Have fun being poor your entire life and blaming other people for your problems. Fucking loser
>A firm handshake would've prevented this
That's why you never deliberately piss off the it guy.
I've heard of guys leaving viruses on a timer so the day the new guy starts "boom" the entire servers stuffed.
I'm doing quite well, stay shit.
Why didn't you just fake all the tests?
>Go to one place
>Take 10 samples
>Fake all the data
Boom. 2 hour drive, and more time to fuck off with headphones on.
You don’t even deserve a notice. That’s how worthless of a man you are.
Same
Unironically they believe this.
I have to laugh because I've had to meet with boomers I loathe in previous jobs, lets just say I didn't wash my hands before the shake.
Did this to a Chinese owned Corp right before busy season kek
They should have wrote a better contract
Because part of the job required signing paperwork at each of these places to acknowledge that you took the samples, and also they would call if they saw that their sample wasn't retrieved.
>boomer manager pays shit wages
>replaces you with beaners
>promotes a hispanic girl who can barely speak english to be the HR manager
>calls you lazy, extols the virtues he never lived by
Boomers deserve everything they get when we defund social security in 10 years
Spoken like a true sub 100 red neck.
Not surprised, boomers are the shittiest bosses. Expect 80 hours a week of work and only want to pay you for 40. Had a boss I worked for named Chris and he was a total dildo. We basically did trash hauling (think gotjunk). it was physical work but I didn’t mind it.
>told him I needed weekends off as I wanted to go to community college and start improving myself (about 19 years old at this point)
>he said that’s fine and I could have weekend off
>literally the FIRST weekend of classes calls me up on Friday telling me he needs me to come in Saturday for a 12 hour day
>told him I can’t I have classes to go to
>Chris:”come on user you can make up the class some other time”
>me:”I told you I can’t I have class, we already agreed on this weeks ago”
>Chris:”well I don’t know what to tell you user but I’m putting you on the schedule for tomorrow”
>me:”no you’re not because I quit, find someone else to help you”
He then pleaded with me not to quit because he didn’t have anyone else who could help, I just laughed and hung up. Fuck that dildo and his $12/hr. Called my coworker Max right after and told him I quit just now. He just laughed and said good fuck Chris. He and I still keep in contact, he was a nice guy.
>They would call if they saw that their sample wasn't retrieved
And you knew this how?
I had a boss who was a mid-20s black woman that fired me the week before SHE went on a vacation, leaving the other manager shorthanded (they were already understaffed because of shit hiring policies and the fact there were only two managers when there were supposed to be 3, she forced the 3rd one out since it was another girl who was competing with her lol).
Modern employment is all kinds of fucked and I think the problem derives from boomers and soibois hiring black/hispanic chicks to do the hiring in general.
It's called professional courtesy, but that's White culture so it doesn't apply to your type.
>literally "going out for a pack of smokes"
lol
They hire them for management positions because it’s the only thing they can actually do without fucking up everything lol
Okay so here's the way the system works
>wastewater plants require daily testing of suspended solids and fecal matter
>some ex-con making 18 an hour working there gets a sample and throws it in the fridge for me, prints out a chain of custody form
>I pick it up, sign the chain of custody, print a copy for them to keep, and go on my way
There is no way to sham this system, the lab I worked for was subcontracted by the city and county, so big money is on the line and public utilities do NOT fuck around.
>they deserve my life and soul, 2 months notice, when they'd never do anything extra for you
spoken like a true cuck
I ghosted once after an interview.
It was at a local ISP and the job description was like marketing coordinator or something to that extent, and it turned out to be door to door sales.
Door to door. For an ISP. In the 2010s.
They didn't even mention that until the tail end of the interview, probably cause they knew no one would want to do it.
I did this once. Only do it if you work for a big corporation or your boss literally treats you like shit. I was too pussy to tell a boss I was quitting once, just stopped showing up. She started texting me:
>user, you didn't come to work. Is everything okay?
>user, you've been gone for a few days. I'm starting to get worried
>Everybody at work misses you user. We're worried. Let me know what's going on please
>Were we not paying you enough? Were you not happy at work? You should have let me know. Is everything okay at home?
>My son killed himself when he was your age. I'm worried sick. Please just let me know that you are okay.
I felt so shitty that I went back and worked for them for like 2 year, and I guess what I did put her through a lot of emotional stress. Before I knew about her son she would always say, "user you remind me of my son" and I'd reply "he must be handsome". It was all kind of devastating. The job sucked but she treated me well and they gave consistent raises. Fuck, I'm stoned. Theres really no point to this story other than its sad. Anyway, if your boss is nice then at least have the decency to be straightforward with them. Some times your beta autism can hurt people.
I give notice just in general because it looks good for references.
Boomers usually are the bosses, it's why they worship authority so hard. They became the authority and they decided to be even worse than the previous.
It's like a joke where the old tyrant is dead, and his successor promises a new reign different from the old to which everyone cheers, then he appends that it will be a new kind of terror.
Worthless lol. No bruh, I speak the god damned truth and your brain cannot take the truth. Whatever boomer.
What makes you think all rules made by HR should be followed? I respect tech. recruiters and girls who take care of paperwork / visa, but other HR girls are bunch of useless powertripping parasites. Setting boundaries and rules just so they can justify their position in company, while making everyones life miserable. Fuck you and fuck your career choice.
It's your coworkers you need to show consideration to.
Had a colleague that was a massive cunt and tried to cash in her pussy pass at me. All she wanted was to stay at the office since the temp outside was usually 35°c tops. Took twice the time to do shit because her left hand was always holding her phone.
She quit while I was in the middle of my vacation and had to cut it short.
Guess who's on her final interview last week on my new company and didn't get the job lmao
>even STEM is fucked
Sad times user
>Not paying off the ex-con
>Not using digital signatures in an Adobe file
>Not faking everything
They were expecting you to do 6 hours of driving a day on top of 6 hours of tests for the samples. Either you are doing something wrong, or the system was fucked to hell before you got there.
So cheat it.
>I speak the god damned truth and your brain cannot take the truth.
god complex. no wonder they didn't even give you notice.
I have a bachelors of science in chemistry and I've had it bad, but never this bad, I've never come across a place where there wouldn't at least be documentation for proper procedure. Most of the bad is just dealing with obvious H1B hires who don't really understand their jobs, and management like you describe who MIGHT be okay at wet work but don't know shit about managing people and are probably too autistic to ever really learn.
>tfw too much of a brainlet for grad school
Got a job at a car dealership washing cars in college. Excited, start next week.
Job is 6 niggers and me
Hey white boy, you think you can wash cars good?
You gonna be washin all the cars if you think you wokring wit us.
Just walked out to my car and drove off
Got a job at walmart.
>boss treats you like shit and tells you to fuck off
>you do
>she regrets it
She is truly a woman among women
i've had too much grief with younger people not doing their jobs, or absolutely faking any level of competence at the requirements of the job. i'm better off hiring a retiree for part-time and a guy i know who i know i can train up than some random applicant that expects everything to either be handed to them on a silver platter (spelled out barney-style) or they get the moon and stars for being inflexible or lazy.
one example was hiring on a college grad for a networking position i had available in an industrial facility. after safety briefings and telling them to go to this specific workwear store and buy the safety gear with our voucher (the company pays 75% the actual cost of required workwear when you're hired, and you keep the gear) he shows up:
1. out of regulations without the safety gear
2. unable to perform the simplest tasks of the job (tasks that you would expect someone with a master's degree in would be able to accomplish). example, for a "masters in computer networking" the guy couldn't derive and offer a /23 PLC network scheme (needs ABR, uses gateways and OSPF, no DNS allowed on the machine network, no DHCP, et c).
3. the guy was late every single day by 30 minutes to an hour. people are waiting on him, the customer has a deadline for go-live at their facility, and delays cost $$ to everybody. you're not paid hourly, so get the tasks done early and you can go home early.
4. the guy was constantly on the phone doing facetime instead of working/inspecting/helping to route cable or doing network setup via terminal.
after 4-5 of these guys, i'm not interested anymore and hire on older guys that know the business and gets work done.
It used to be a courtesy that went both ways. If a company cut you loose, even if they sent you home that day for security reasons, they'd pay you at least two weeks severance. Not just executives, anyone. So employees returned the favor.
Now that many companies don't do that, and some even screw with your pension (if you have one at all), employees don't feel any loyalty either.
welp better import a bunch of cheap mexican labor
Exactly my german comrade. HR is useless in anything work related.
However HR is there to protect the company and their interests and to fuck employees any way they can.
It's funny because this was actually the case
>other workers tell me she can't actually do the work, but she cries when she can't do it so she REALLY cares and wishes she could
>they tell me this like it matters to me whether she cares or not, like that's a fucking qualification for the job
Really shows you the standards are different for men and women. There was only one other chick there too since she forced out her only real female competition. What a fucking joke.
When you apply for a job and it asks the reason why you left, what would you say? And btw this is good to know
>falling for the emotional bait
This is how you treat any business above 50 employees total
You're not. Boomers just remember when employers and employees were more loyal to each other when they were young. Once they were in charge, they got rid of all that for the sake of efficiency and profits, and now they're surprised it's gone.
>Try to follow the rules instead of acting like a child and you won't have trouble with HR.
lmao
1. telling /b/ I mean Jow Forums to follow rules
2. rules aren't there to be blindly followed anyways
And the funny thing with people like you is that you'll pull the "rules are rules and I'm a robot" spiel right up until it's your friend who breaks a rule and then suddenly it's, "well we're all human he didn't mean it"
my first job, at a pizza place, they didnt even train me, they were supposed to legally, they skipped it almost entirely, and i had to learn a ton of shit on the job with the owner treating me like i was a fucking retard for not already knowing how it all works
>your boss wanted to be your mom
lolwut
>stupid people quit stupid minimum wage jobs
This shit doesn't work if you are making more than 30K a year.
If they contact your previous employer you are FUCKED.
And if you have no work history to dodge that you are FUCKED.
anyone who wants to see or post inspirational stuff here's a thread i made. i'm thinking of doing a daily Jow Forums inspiration general
Yeah, when I was a manager the boss told me never to tell anyone why an employee was fired. All I was supposed to reveal was whether the person had worked there or not. Even when I fired someone for stealing I couldn't say that because we didn't charge him with theft and get a conviction (it wasn't enough to bother).
